According to the ACCN programming guide, there is an episode of Nothing But Net next Tuesday, the 24th at 7p. It's the only episode listed in the immediate future. So, expect the schedule releases then.

The Big Ten announced their 2024-2025 conference schedule today, and I thought it might illustrate what an ACC schedule looks like. Both conferences have 18 teams and will play 20 games: 6 home AND away games against 3 partner schools, plus 14 home OR away games against the other 14 schools.

Some quick notes:

1. "Tipoff times and television designations will be announced at a later date." Seriously? You had all summer. This isn't football; you should be able to plan this out with the FOX sports channels months in advance.

2. The four West Coast schools are partnered up. Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington play 2 games against each other -- 4 of the games in early December, 3 of the games in early March, and the rest scattered in between.

3. Yes, early December. The league plays a total of 18 games between December 3-13, and then resumes their schedule in January.

4. Every non-West Coast team takes one trip out west to play 2 games, and they seem to be 3 days apart. For example, Michigan plays at USC January 4 and at UCLA January 7. The Wolverines host Oregon and Washington.

5. They try to make travel convenient for the West Coast teams, but I can't discern a clear pattern. This is from the UCLA website:

Following the New Year, UCLA will play three of its next four Big Ten games away from home. The Bruins will play at Nebraska on Saturday, Jan. 4, before hosting Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 7. UCLA will play back-to-back road games at Maryland (Friday, Jan. 10) and Rutgers (Monday, Jan. 13).

UCLA will remain along the West Coast for its next seven games. Following home games against Iowa (Friday, Jan. 17) and Wisconsin (Tuesday, Jan. 21), UCLA will play at Washington (Friday, Jan. 24) and at USC (Monday, Jan. 27). The Bruins will return home for three consecutive home contests – versus Oregon (Thursday, Jan. 30), Michigan State (Tuesday, Feb. 4) and Penn State (Saturday, Feb. 8).

The Bruins will return to the road for back-to-back games at Illinois (Tuesday, Feb. 11) and Indiana (Friday, Feb. 14). UCLA will play three of its final five regular-season games at home, starting with matchups in Pauley Pavilion against Minnesota (Tuesday, Feb. 18) and Ohio State (Sunday, Feb. 23). After a trip to the Midwest to face Purdue (Friday, Feb. 28) and Northwestern (Monday, March 3), UCLA will host crosstown rival USC (Saturday, March 8).

The ACC should have an easier time with this, considering that there are only 2 West Coast teams. According to last February's announcement of matchups and pairings, Cal, SMU, and Stanford play each other twice, and a random third partner gets roped in for each: Cal hosts and visits NC State, SMU hosts and visits Virginia, and Stanford hosts and visits Wake Forest.

The Cardinal better put a security detail on Maxime Reynaud -- those tie-dye weirdos in Winston-Salem will not hesitate to attack.

I just got an e-mail to buy tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters at MSG on Saturday, February 22 at 1 pm. I believe that is the same day as the Duke-Illinois game at MSG which leads me to believe the Duke game will be at night so they can clear out MSG and then bring fans back in. I would love for them to do a single ticket doubleheader but that will not be the case. The Globetrotters usually come to MSG around that time of year - i recall taking my kids a few years ago around President's Day.

That will be one heck of a matchup against a Lousville team looking to make a name for themselves out of the gate. Less than 48 hours after the late Auburn game. Can't wait for the season to get here!

Sorry, I need reading glasses.

Thankfully, the schedule gets released tonight at 8PM to serve as a distraction. Women's schedule will be announced beforehand at 7.
