Adam Zagoria
posted the Blue Ribbon Preseason All-Americans, and Cooper Flagg made the 2nd team. Normally I'd put this in the general/national preseason thread, where it belongs, but this is just going to become another Flagg discussion, so I put it here in the Duke thread instead.
When I embedded the post, it shortened the image and cut out the first team. I'm just typing it out instead.
First Team
RJ Davis, UNC
Hunter Dickinson, Kansas
Alex Karaban, Connecticut
Caleb Love, Arizona
Mark Sears, Alabama
Second Team
Johni Broome, Auburn
Cooper Flagg, Duke
Braden Smith, Purdue
Wade Taylor IV, Texas A&M
Zakai Zeigler, Tennessee
Third Team
Robbie Avila, Saint Louis
Graham Ike, Gonzaga
Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton
Tamin Lipsey, Iowa State
J'Wan Roberts, Houston
Fourth Team
Oumar Ballo, Indiana
LJ Cryer, Houston
Yaxel Lendeborg, UAB
Great Osobor, Washington
Hunter Sallis, Wake Forest
I've never heard of Yaxel Lendeborg. He's a former 3-year JUCO player who averaged over 13 points and 10 rebounds last season for UAB. If I were intent on picking a double-double machine for the Fourth Team, I'd have picked Norchad Omier, now at Baylor.
GoDuke also reports that Blue Ribbon named Flagg the Newcomer of the Year.
Duke men's basketball freshman Cooper Flagg has been named Newcomer of the Year and Preseason Second Team All-American by the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook.
