Here are the numbers from last night's beatdown of the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks (cool mascot name) at Cameron Indoor:
OFFENSE
Possessions: 73.7 (faster than both teams normally play; 46 combined TOs will do that)

eFG%: 54.5% (excellent, well above both our norm and what they usually allow*)
3pt%: 37.9% (good, above the norm for both teams)
2pt%: 52.6% (good, above both averages)
%three: 43.3% (extremely high, our highest rate all season)
FT rate: 43.3% (very high, our highest since Liberty, our second game)
OR%: 50.0% (outstanding)
TO%: 21.7% (almost our norm, but quite bad against this level opponent)
a/to: 1.063 (OK, in the end; bad for most of the game)
%assisted: 54.8% (bad, well below our normal)
fast break pts: 14 (16.3%) (very good)
DEFENSE
dRtg: 0.339 (excellent; 0.291 adj., #1 by a whole lot - more than 40 points in 100 possessions better than #1)

3pt%: 13.3% (excellent)
2pt%: 22.6% (wow, best of the season)
%threes: 32.6% (more than we usually allow, but they normally take almost 45% of their shots from three)
FT rate: 13.0% (excellent, and they normally get to the line ~30%)
DR%: 78.4% (excellent)
TO%: 40.7% (excellent, almost double Lehigh's normal rate)
a/to: 0.100 (excellent)
%assisted: 33.3% (that's 3 assists on 9 made buckets; talk about small sample size)
stl%: 17.6% (good, but not outstanding)
blk%: 12.9% (again, good, but not outstanding)
fast break pts: 0 (0.0%) (can't do better than that)
*Take this entire game with a huge grain of salt. Not only does Lehigh never face a top-ranked team, Lehigh seldom faces even a Power 4 team. They were 1-1 against the P4 with two early games against Big Ten teams, but the team they beat was Northwestern, which was 2-16 in Big Ten games. In other words, as great as this game was on paper, I'm not sure we can glean much from it except that it was a good way for us to get re-accustomed to competitive play, given that it's our first actual game in nearly two weeks.
So I'm not going to say much except to say that our offense took a while to come out of the locker room, even as our defense showed up from the opening tap. It took us time to find the range at game speed, and to get used to simple things like, you know, passing the ball against a team that's legitimately trying to take it away. Specific concerns include a negative A:TO by our primary point guard (even our backup only had an even ratio), and our leading scorer still not knowing what to do against an energetic double-team.
There's not much room for improvement defensively (we allowed single-digit scoring in every quarter), but we've still got plenty of work to do on the offensive side of the ball.
