My apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Is there an update on Fournier's status or has Coach Lawson gone Agent 99 on us?
Coach Kara provides very little details about injuries or illnesses. I have a feeling we won’t know Toby’s status until warmups on Friday lolMy apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Is there an update on Fournier's status or has Coach Lawson gone Agent 99 on us?
Maybe, but doesn’t the NCAA require a news conference on the day before a tournament game? Of course, she can just say that it will be a game time decision, whether it is or not.Coach Kara provides very little details about injuries or illnesses. Easy solution...don't gamble on sports.Maybe, but doesn’t the NCAA require a news conference on the day before a tournament game? Of course, she can just say that it will be a game time decision, whether it is or not.
I am concerned about coaches withholding injury info in the age of widespread sports gambling — and, yes, that now includes WCBB. You’re relying heavily on the integrity of everyone associated with the team and that’s probably more than two dozen people even in the women’s game.
Gambling vs. HIPAA. HIPAA wins.Maybe, but doesn’t the NCAA require a news conference on the day before a tournament game? Of course, she can just say that it will be a game time decision, whether it is or not.

It SHOULD win, of course. Will it, always, if someone decides they are underpaid and want to pick up some action on the side? That's always the risk with sports gambling.Gambling vs. HIPAA. HIPAA wins.
Is the Duke athletic department a covered entity under HIPAA?Gambling vs. HIPAA. HIPAA wins.
Doesn't matter, a single individual always is.Is the Duke athletic department a covered entity under HIPAA?
If not, FERPA might be the ticket.
Sorry if I was unclear or am misunderstanding, I didn't mean that the Duke athletic department is protected by HIPAA, I was asking if the Duke AD (and its employees) is a covered entity that has obligations not to disclose under HIPAA. HIPAA protects Fournier's health information from being disclosed by covered entities, but is the Duke AD a covered entity?Doesn't matter, a single individual always is.
That all sounds kind of dirty. Is the Duke athletic department a covered entity under HIPAA?
If not, FERPA might be the ticket.
That's not great, but if you are not obligated to disclose availability, this could also be fantastic games(wo)manship. Winning the game is more important than satisfying bettors/bookies.The team just uploaded a bunch or pictures and videos of players boarding a plane. Toby was not in any of the pictures.
Link please? Was every other member of the team shown? i.e. how many is a bunch? The team just uploaded a bunch or pictures and videos of players boarding a plane. Toby was not in any of the pictures.

I mean, Spencer Hubbard could beat the Tar Heels 1-on-5. So why can't one of the women?ARE WE JUST SENDING ONE PLAYER?!?!?!?
It’s over.
