The longest thread ever

I am groggily typing, as I attended the game last night. I have to say I was quite disgusted at the number of Duke ticket holders who sold their tickets to Auburn fans. I realize that with this electronic ticket age, they are less likely to know who is buying, but REALLY?? They well outnumbered the most 'holes that have ever been to a game. They took over the top of one endzone. Their cheers were louder than ours. Thank goodness we won, and the jerk in the Auburn toboggan, who left at the last timeout, flipped us all off as we waved goodbye. I can't imagine how obnoxious he would have been if they had won.

But, yeah. Great game!
Who’s Auburn?

Agreed. I didn't like it one bit either and came through on TV. It also reflects the current state of live events and ticketing in general. I'd get into it but I'm trying to maintain positivity until at least the third week in January when the nihilism kicks in. That guy is lucky it was Cameron. There are plenty of other places he'd have felt with a black eye or even worse.

ClemmonsDevil: You put me to shame on the other board, and I love you for it. You are such a better writer than I am, and I am envious.

<no emojis, this is a sarcasm-free post>

They have the "Awful announcer" thread. And the very annoying "I'm not going to jinx it" thread (too pun adjacent for me). I participate in none of these. I wish every year there was a "Closet GM/coaching" thread for both football and basketball. People could post about stuff they don't know or understand, but think they do until their lil hearts are contented. And I would never have to see it. I would love that soooooo much.

Oh, his flipping us off was the cherry on top! We loved it! And that's why he bolted out early, I think he was worried someone might slug him.

off to have breakfast this morning with a friend, when I got there I found out he died two days ago, but his five kids showed up instead. Ack. These things happen. The kids were great.

There is no care emoji here - but sending you my condolences and a hug.
I went with the sad emoji. I'm glad the kids showed up to let you know and spend time with you.

Condolences and hugs to you.

In a couple of weeks, this thread will be 17 years old. We have 4 years to plan what to do when the thread is old enough to buy the beer. ;)

OK - I have given us something fun to think about for the next 4 years! Anybody else have suggestions?

OPK - if I ever decide to opine away about coaching basketball, it will be here. I did actually coach basketball once, in a Y league, when my oldest was 8 and the league was desperate for volunteers for the 8-9 year old league. I was bad at it. I wasn't trying to win, I was trying to make sure everybody got playing time and that there was no shoving each other on the bench. Some of the parents weren't happy that I paid absolutely no attention to talent when it came to playing time, I was more, "Who's turn is it to go into the game?"

Gonna have to rename it “The Longest in the tooth Thread Ever”

Kinda like Roy's substitution patterns?

(I'm assuming I can still make ill-informed critiques of rival coaches and players, otherwise I'm giving up on the internet).
