ESPN Scheduling

Of course the Sweden Finland hockey game is going to OT, we will see if our scheduling scramble continues.

Never mind, the Finns took care of the problem and the Swedes

ya, that was a pretty extreme case, although it's happening more or less to every game...
probably great for ESPN....fans of the first game still watching, fans of the second game going to tune in anyway, and stronger tie in between the two games for others.

Won't get changed until the conferences negotiate itt...and fat chance there.

So, in the Irony column, if I'm reading my ESPN schedule properly, the game preceding ours on ESPN tomorrow night is none other than the Duke-Notre Dame women's game....so I'll be recording the men's game AND will record ESPNews where the telecast of that game will almost certainly begin.
Considering how much ESPN is promoting Cooper Flagg, you might think they'd be inclined to do away with overruns, but you'd be wrong.

There's a solution to this. Just go to the game in person. The crowd was 90% Clemson, but basketball is just a diversion between football and spring football for them. Just prepared to get you car towed home down there if it rains on Friday.
I kept my eye out for Clemson tix, but couldn't get them through the Clemson site like I did last year, and the resale market STARTED at $190 even right before the game. That's just not in my live event value matrix.

I'm glad I got to see them live at GA tech this year for about $80 per seat.

Yeah, but sometimes they move the start to ESPNU! So you have to set up both to be sure!

Not meaning to jinx anything, but I can only recall a game or two that the Duke women have played that ran beyond the two hour mark. The unfortunate news is that if the game is close, going long is more likely, and if Duke wins, it's likely to be a close game. So in a backhanded kind of way, I'm kinda hoping for an overrun in this particular case.
