Duke Women's Soccer 2024

Wow. Pity about UVA -- I've always liked Steve Swanson. His style of play and the way he runs the program are both classy.

I shouldn't dislike FSU -- it's Tori Huster's school, after all -- I can't say I'm sad to see them out.

Both of those Duke goals are just so, so good. Clinical finishing. So precise.

Swanson has a fantastic reputation
 
Women's basketball was in a similar state 20 years ago. It was TN and UCONN and that's about it. Maybe two or three other teams had even a snowball's chance at winning it all. Things have progressed to where there is more parity and talent is more distributed across lots of teams. It's not nearly as open-ended as the men's game, but it's gotten better and hopefully the same will happen for women's soccer as it continues to grow in popularity and Title IX remains in place (?).
