lol oh this is MBB. Argggg got so pumped! Complete aside, but for anyone that hasn’t seen a football game at Army (regardless of opponent), need to get on the bucket list. Really good family environment and Hudson Valley in fall is amazing

I live in the Hudson Valley. I certainly will attend, God willing and the creek don't rise.

Veteran's Day 2025 will be on a Tuesday. Their gym seats about 5,000. It will be interesting to see the Duke fan turnout. West Point is close to NYC but still over an hour with no traffic (and unless you go very early, there will be traffic on a Tuesday, even with some people off work for Veteran's Day), so other than for those who live Westchester, Bergen or Rockland/Hudson Valley, it is long trip for a weeknight. I expect my fellow Duke fans to turn out well and I think it is incredible that it will be on Veteran's Day, but it won't be easy for everyone. Again - not complaining - I love it and will try to figure out how to go.

Me too. I grew up, and still live, in Westchester county. My only trip to Christl Arena was in 1987, 2 years after it opened, to watch a closed circuit broadcast of the Sugar Ray Leonard v Marvin Hagler fight.

Christl Arena holds 5,000. That is going to be a very, very tough/expensive ticket.

Not next season but the season after. But still awesome!

Yeah, @JasonEvans should have put "MBB:" in front of the thread title. I rode a similar roller coaster...

(sees thread title) "Cool, the basketball team is playing a road game at Army"
(sees grassy field) "Oh, this is for football."
(sees Scheyer's name) "Wait, why did they quote Coach Scheyer for a football game?"

Obviously this is awesome for all the obvious reasons. But also for a less obvious (and important) one: next year’s team will get another non-conference road game. Even against an opponent we should beat handily, I’m a big proponent of these to get the team ready for ACC play. The fact that the game will also look much better on a resume by ways of coming on the road is just icing on the cake.

Easy, just book one of the boats that does the Manhattan-West Point roundtrip for Michie Stadium gamedays. Though it'll be a laaaate return.

I am pretty sure those boats don't run for weeknight basketball games in November.

It will be interesting to see how many tickets they release. There are over 4,000 students at West Point. Obviously the majority are not rabid Cameron Crazy type fans, but I'm sure there are plenty who are, and if they are going to one game, this will be it. Same for faculty, etc. And there are plenty of big hitter Iron Dukes types (and big donors to the university) in the NY area who will need to be taken care of.

Hope they hold a ticket or 2 for K.

Yeah I didn't mean buy a ticket, I meant rent the boat out. Plenty of Duke NYC money to do that.

Announcers were wishing this would happen during the game Friday night. I can't imagine it's a cause and effect, but Spatola does have a connection.

This game is already appearing on local sports programs. Can't have too much Duke free press in the NYC area.
