2026 Men's Basketball Recruiting

Beat me to it, @dukedoc. I saw this post from Dushawn London earlier today:

Christian Collins (6-8 SF) is, I believe, the 6th recruit from the 2026 class who has received a Duke offer. Verbal Commits lists the other five:

Brandon McCoy Jr, 6-4 SG
Miikka Muurinen, 6-10 PF
Jordan Smith Jr, 6-2 PG
Luigi Suigo, 7-3 C
Sebastian Wilkins, 6-8 SF

I don't know if it was ever posted last week, but here is the announcement of a Duke offer to Sebastian Wilkins:

According to both Tobias Bass of The Athletic and Adam Rowe of 247 Sports/The Devils Den (paywall), Sebastian Wilkins is visiting Duke tomorrow (Monday, May 5). The free portion of Rowe's article mentions that Wilkins could reclassify to 2025 and play for Duke this fall.

Duke offered the forward a scholarship in the middle of April, and have an opportunity to bring him in as a member of next year's roster during the two-day all-expenses paid trip that begins tomorrow just after he participated in the first stop of the adidas 3SSB circuit this past weekend in Bryan, TX.

I love Wilkins for this year's team but even more as a second year player on next year's team when he could be our starting PF.

Imagine having this second 5:

PG Boozer
SG Harris
SF Khamenia
PF Wilkins
C Brown

That squad could win some games in the ACC. It's not quite as experienced as this season's second 5 of Foster, Harris, Evans, Gillis, Brown, but that tracks with CBB being a year younger.

I truly believe that you and others are seriously under selling Cayden. He was starting point on the national champion high school team. He has a pretty good record and pedigree.

Underrating him how? Not expecting him to start?

I could see Cayden winning a starting job. I could also see Khamenia who is rated ahead of Cayden winning a starting spot. But at this point I would pencil both guys in behind returning guys until they win those jobs. Doesn't really change my point if Foster or Evans drop to the second 5.

Barring injury, the name Boozer will appear twice in the Duke regular starting lineup. The two may even lead the team in scoring.

Wilkins would give the team a solid rotation in the frontcourt.

Cayden Boozer, who averaged 14.5ppg in high school, being Duke's second leading scorer is certainly a take.

I actually think it would be a bad thing though as it would likely mean that both Evans and Coward are not at Duke and we failed to find a good replacement for them.

Cayden played differently when the competition was better. He averaged 20 ppg at Nationals, while playing against the best high school teams in the country. Cameron averaged about 18.
