2 Finalists are Penn State and Wake Forest (will announce on Power 105.1 show “The Breakfast Club” at 8am ET; streaming audio link)

SATURDAY 11/2

John Clark (6-9 PF, RSCI #42)
4 Finalists are Houston, Kansas, Texas, and Texas A&M (will announce on On3 at 5pm ET; streaming link)

I was wrong about John Clark -- he announced today, and he chose Texas.

Kayden Mingo picked Penn State this morning, and Darryn Peterson just said he's going to Kansas.

SATURDAY 11/2

Acaden Lewis (6-3 PG, RSCI #36)
3 Finalists are Connecticut, Duke, and Kentucky (will announce on On3 at 2pm ET; streaming link)

Shelton Henderson (6-6 SF, RSCI #26)
3 Finalists are Duke, Louisville, and Texas (will announce on 247 Sports at 2:30pm ET; streaming link)

Isaiah Denis (6-5 CG, RSCI #70)
6 Finalists are Miami, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, UNC, and Wake Forest (will announce on 247 Sports at 4pm ET; streaming link)

On3's Jamie Shaw has quietly entered the prediction business, getting a headstart on Trilly Donovan's morning GIFs by posting his own head coach GIFs the night before, helpfully identifying the coach in the caption. In the past couple of hours, he posted a Mark Pope GIF and a Jon Scheyer GIF. This most likely means that Acaden Lewis is choosing Kentucky, and Shelton Henderson is choosing Duke. We'll know for sure when the announcements are made. (If you're wondering, I don't think he posted any GIF predictions for Nikolas Khamenia's decision.)

Trilly Donovan agrees: he's posted a Kentucky GIF and a Duke GIF this morning.

There's still some mystery about Isaiah Denis. Jamie Shaw did not post a prediction last night, and while Donovan still has time, he might not post one either.

At this moment, there are no 247 Crystal Ball predictions, and On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine -- the Zoltar of this weird industry -- puts Wake Forest ahead of UNC and the others by a negligible percentage. And that could just be based on this post that won't embed for some reason: "Hearing Wake Forest is making significant movement with Denis. Have two UNC sources saying they believe UNC has backed off a bit."

Also keep in mind that Denis made his last two visits to Tennessee and Wake Forest, so there could be some recency bias. His Rivals FutureCast shows a prediction for UNC back in August (by a person named "KevinHeel") and a second prediction yesterday for Wake Forest (by Conor O'Neill, who publishes the Rivals sites for both Wake Forest and Duke). Make of that what you will.

Edited to add: This just got weird. Trilly Donovan just posted a UNC ram mascot GIF. He's been wrong before (but not often), so there could some potential drama for the Isaiah Denis announcement later today.

To recap, Acaden Lewis picked Kentucky, Shelton Henderson picked Duke (see the replay below and his Welcome to Duke thread), and Isaiah Denis just picked... UNC.

Who’s next?

Probably not Caleb Wilson. The potential package deal with Kentucky-bound Acaden Lewis got new life today, first with Wilson's wide-eyed post responding to Lewis' announcement, and second with Lewis calling up Wilson shortly after choosing Kentucky.

Maybe not first and second; the time stamps on the two posts are identical.

If Wilson is indeed out, that leaves 3 remaining Duke offers to Nate Ament, Brayden Burries, and Koa Peat. I wrote about each in post #1,080 upthread.

How’s our depth at center next year? Assuming Ngonba doesn’t transfer, do we think he and Brown are enough?
I assume that Brown, Ngongba, and Cameron Boozer will get a ton of playing time in the frontcourt. A versatile forward through the portal, maybe like Javin DeLaurier or Amile Jefferson in body type but more like Theo John or Ryan Young in role might help.

I agree with this. I would hope the staff can go out and sign an experienced backup big for practice and insurance purposes. But Ngongba, Brown, Boozer are all very capable of playing the 5.

Without Nate Ament we have a top 2 class. With Nate Ament it's the clear #1 class.

Here is Duke's class so far (rankings from RSCI).

#02 Cameron Boozer (committed)
#18 Cayden Boozer (committed)
#26 Shelton Henderson (committed)
#30 Nikolas Khamenia (committed)

There are only 32 players in the RSCI Top 100 (see list below) who have yet to decide upon a school, but that includes 5 of the top 10, and 10 of the top 20, so we're still a bit away from awarding the clear #1 class to anyone.

To give an extreme example, Auburn has one commitment so far from 6-5 shooting guard Simon Walker, who's #88 by On3 and #90 by 247 Sports, but is not ranked by ESPN and Rivals, which drags his industry average down. It's early, though, and Auburn is listed as a finalist for 10 of the players listed below. If they were to kill it in the spring and add just 5 of those -- say, #1 AJ Dybantsa, #13 Chris Cenac, #15 Bryson Tiller, #37 Shon Abaev, and #56 Kaden Magwood -- that would compare well against a Duke class with or without Nate Ament.

Here are some more plausible contenders.
