2024-2025 Men’s Basketball Season General Discussion

An potentially unfortunate situation is coming to light in Gainesville. Florida head coach Todd Golden has received Title IX complaints for allegedly sexually harassing and stalking several women on campus.

Looks awful. I'd guess he is out in a few days.

Here's Bill Self and some Polish guy from Chicago talking about the state of college basketball and potential changes that would help the game. This thread felt as good as any.
Thanks for finding and posting this, it is a real good summary of Self's appearance on K's Sirius radio show. They hit a ton of topics including the lack of leadership at the top of college basketball, what on-court and off-court rules they'd like to change, and how scheduling will change as revenue-sharing with players becomes a reality. This is well worth reading.

Assuming he gets fired, I wouldn't be surprised if Jai Lucas' phone starts ringing.

Where were Carolina’s hotshot freshmen, Jackson and Powell? I only watched the last 10-15 minutes of the game, but didn’t notice them.

Seriously though, Seth Trimble is much improved.

That's a tough loss for UNC.....would've been a nice resume win for them and the ACC.

They were outmatched for much of the game and were only allowed to hang around due to a massive FT discrepancy and conversion rate (28-31 vs 12-17).

Freshmen didn't provide much and Cade Tyson was almost invisible.

It looks like a respectable loss but they were very close to being run-out-of-the-gym.

Bit early to worry about RJ Davis but he's had back-to-back sub-par games.

I totally forgot about Tyson. I didn’t notice him or the 5 star freshmen.

UNC is good, but they still haven't figured out their interior rotation. Tyson only played 1 minute. Withers made some jumpers, but we've seen enough not to be scared of him. Washington wasn't great, and inexplicably took a corner 3 with the game on the line. Lubin did show some promise.

Kansas is good, but they have a strange roster construction. They still have too many guys who don't shoot. And Dickinson pigeon holes them into a playing style. Dude is such a liability on defense. I thought KU was better when Bidunga was out there. Dude had 8 points and 8 boards in 11 minutes, and Self benched him for some reason.

They had a legit shot at an excellent win, but it's always so hard to tell this early how good a team is going to be. Between Davis & Trimble they should stay pretty good though.

Kansas was No. 1 to start last season too and was fortunate to be a 4 seed.
