Y’know when you take a small piece of bread after an Italian meal and sop up the sauce off your plate?
They have a word or phrase for that: la scarpetta, which roughly translates to “to do the little shoe.”
Not sure why I find that so comforting.
Aboard U.S. Navy ships, the term "general quartes" tells sailors to stop everything and prepare for battle. The Royal Navy, I believe, is the same. A French navy captain once told me that the comparable term in the Italian navy is "panico generale," my new favorite term.
