I personally think Wordle should publicly abandon their no-repeat policy. That makes it a different puzzle. Maybe don't repeat an answer more than once within a couple months or something, but never is a long time.

They're bound to at some point, probably not long after they use "Myrrh".

There are ~9,000 official five letter words for Scrabble. Mileage may vary based on the source but at some point, they’ll have to repeat if the game has a long enough run.

Good suggestion, I agree with your take. I think the usage of past word lists detracts from the game (personal opinion).
