No bad losses in the last, very abbreviated week of non-conference play, so at least there was that (although Louisville, BC, and Carolina all won by less than projected). New Year brings new hope and the start of conference play in earnest.

Hey, the ACC is a respectable 12-13 against the non-SEC power conferences.

4-30 is just one of the most stark numbers I have ever seen between conferences... wow.

Not following your math.

I'm guessing you meant these?

Big 12: 3-9
Big East: 2-5
Big Ten: 7-9

That's 12-23, not 12-13.

He also didn't correctly subtract 30 from 53. Of course, when the number of losses gets so big it can be hard to keep the simple math straight.

It's like the 46 years since the Nakatomi Plaza hostage situation all over again.

Big 12 vs SEC: 2-14 (Arizona 0-1, Arizona State 0-1, Baylor 1-1, BYU 0-1, Houston 0-2, Iowa State 0-1, Kansas 0-1, Kansas State 0-1, Oklahoma State 0-1, TCU 0-1, Texas Tech 0-1, UCF 1-1, Utah 0-1)
Big East vs SEC: 4-5 (Butler 1-0, Connecticut 1-0, Creighton 0-2, Marquette 1-0, Providence 0-1, Seton Hall 0-1, St. John's 0-1, Xavier 1-0)
Big Ten vs SEC: 8-10 (Illinois 2-2, Michigan 0-2, Ohio State 2-2, Oregon 2-0, Purdue 2-2, Rutgers 0-2)

The Big 12 needs to send the ACC a fruit basket or something. 2-14 is not quite as bad as 4-30, but it's close, and nobody is criticizing the Big 12 right now. Didn't they have 5 teams in the preseason top 10? (Rhetorical. Yes, they did.)

I am consistently doing double digit subtraction and being off by 10...

I'm just glad I can provide all of you with a bit of amusement ;)

Here's a little math trick that may help. Convert the numbers to binary before doing the subtraction.
16 = 0010000
53 = 0110101
04 = 0000100
30 = 0011110

16-04 = 0010000 - 0000100 = 0001100
53-30 = 0110101 - 0011110 = 0010111

An added benefit is that if you are off by 10, when you convert it back to decimal you're only off by 2.

Hey, I have the Basic Math Duke > UNC shirt for more than one reason so you won't get any shaming from me at your math skills! LOL!

Imagine playing in a home arena that was designed not primarily, or even secondarily for basketball.

Just BC things. At least they scored more than 2 points :)

Louisville wins 83-70. It was a 1 point game with a couple of minutes left, then Louisville closed on a 13-1 run. Withers did not enjoy his return home

No field goals in the last 5 minutes for UNC.
