The saga of Daniel Jones thread

I believe Tulane Stadium was called the Sugar Bowl, or at least hosted the Sugar Bowl game at that time. So same thing.

And, as a young Dolphins fan, I remember the game well. I was not a happy lad that day. Bob Lilly wreaked havoc on the Dolphins, including chasing Griese around for a 29 yard sack. The next two seasons were a very different story.
I bet the Fish's undefeated season made you happy. Csonka, Kiick and Bob Griese was a great backfield. I believe Bob Matheson might have been on that team as well.

Yes. OL protection is underrated. The Bears’ record is even worse than the Giants’. Quarterbacks don’t just go there to die, they go there to be murdered.
Ah yes, Mike, my beloved Bears and their rich history of quarterbacks. At least as of a few years ago, the Bears had more players in the NFL Hall of Fame than any other franchise, but only one QB -- Sid Luckman.

(It's been awhile since he played.)

It's been a while since his name was even mentioned.

Mercury Morris was also in the backfield. Very dangerous speed back, and made a great tandem with Kiick to play opposite Zonk. If I'm not mistaken, Griese only had to throw seven passes in Super Bowl VIII when we manhandled the Vikings. These days, QBs throw seven passes on the first possession. Seven for the whole game!

Mercury Morris. One of the best names in football. Right up there with Steve Stonebreaker and Dick Butkus.

Yep. I actually have a Luckman t-shirt. I should get a D. Jones one too.

Early reports from the Colt minicamp say Daniel Jones looks really sharp. He's very much in contention to be the #1 QB there.

“Daniel Jones, making his move a little bit minicamp, taking those first-team reps with Anthony Richardson resting his shoulder,” Fowler said on “SportsCenter” on June 14. “Richardson plans to be back for training camp for that battle. But I was told Jones was a fast processor at the line of scrimmage, good chemistry with his receivers, he was, ‘Very sharp,’ as is told to me in minicamp as the guy. So, it’s going to be fascinating once they hit camp in that battle.”

I'm glad DJ is getting some positive press. I've always admired how he handles adversity. It would be great to see him have the chance to flourish with a team that has some good pieces around him.
