I can't watch anything generated by the parent companies of CBS or ABC right now. I'm making a special allowance for espn. Probably because I'm a moral relativist.
Have you seen it before? My Spectrum TV listings have a feature where the listing for one movie points you to other ‘similar’ movies you might like. Not a bad feature I suppose.
Today a Hallmark movie listing pointed me to a movie I’m seriously considering. After all if it’s up Hallmark’s standards…
This is the movie suggested:

I first saw it in a theater in the '50s when I was around 8. I remember the first half hour and the last 10 minutes. Napped through the middle.Have you seen it before?
Great cinematography; definitely the product of a different era though (to put it politely). Let’s just say that its portrayal of African-Americans is what you would expect for something filmed in 1939. Not for everyone.
With that caveat — it won 10 Academy Awards and featured the first African-American actor to win one (Hattie McDaniel for supporting actress).
“I’ll never goTo be Hallmark it has to have snow and be in Vermont Throw in some Santa Claus
Wait just a minute!!To be Hallmark it has to have snow and be in Vermont Throw in some Santa Claus
There is big city teacher/business person finds love in small town America and brother/sister of the bride discovers their former sweetheart in the run up to the wedding seasons too.Wait just a minute!!
There are several weeks of the year that Hallmark doesn't do Christmas movies.
They just advertise the upcoming Christmas movies.
And don't go hating on Hallmark superstars Chris Bearstick and Jessica Normal. Linky
And don't forget that the number one occupation for men in Hallmark movies is... Secret Prince. There is big city teacher/business person finds love in small town America and brother/sister of the bride discovers their former sweetheart in the run up to the wedding seasons too.
I love them like my own family!Wait just a minute!!

That's not a "nap", that's half a night's sleep. The film is nearly four hours long, and that doesn't count the theater time for the intermission.I remember the first half hour and the last 10 minutes. Napped through the middle.
I think that was "Coming to America".And don't forget that the number one occupation for men in Hallmark movies is... Secret Prince.
I still laugh at the Days of Olde when Old Country musicians made fun of the unkempt longhairs playing rock and roll....I'm eating at a restaurant in West Virginia that's playing new country music. Man. New country is absolute crap.
Careful...I'm eating at a restaurant in West Virginia that's playing new country music. Man. New country is absolute crap.
They can't all be John Denver.I'm eating at a restaurant in West Virginia that's playing new country music. Man. New country is absolute crap.
