I saw Wang Chung in the ‘80s in Forest Hills, NY, in an outdoor venue. They opened up for The Cars, who were awful, and it started raining midway through the show. By the end of The Cars set people were yelling, “we want wang chung!”
In 2019 I got three new smoke alarms that supposedly last for ten years, they have not replaceable batteries.
Today two of them began their end of life chirping within 20 minutes of each other...at least I can say the Chinese manufacturing is consistent.
(yes, I did check, the house isn't on fire)

Unimportant followup! It wasn't the smoke alarms, they were set up by a really bad software engineer in Oregon.
Beeps came from nearby, a Weather Alert radio that makes big noises when the Weather Service issues warnings, e.g. flood, big snow, winds, etc.
It has a basic manual, and inside the manual has been inserted one flimsy piece of paper on which it is written: "If Weather Alert has not sounded in the last month, the unit will emit a beep every ten minutes." Quite bizarre. One is told to silence this beeping by unplugging the unit for a few moments, then plugging it back in.

truth be told I was trying to lure her out of her hole....I did check out the ingredients yesterday, among the top ones were corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose and sugar...that's some good stuff right there, not to mention delicious if not nutritious palm oil and good ol' red dye #40...
Basically a broad array of good stuff.
