The endless pain of the Carolina Panthers - Season 2024

So much negativity about the Carolina Panthers! Don't be such a stick in the... hold on...

The team was returning from a 17-3 preseason loss at New England on Thursday night and arrived safely around 2:35 a.m. on the runway.

But as the plane was making its way to the terminal it veered off the taxiway and got stuck and was unable to move, forcing passengers to have to deplane via stairs and be transported to the terminal.

No one was injured. Many of the passengers were sleeping and had no idea what happened.

Memo to Delta Airlines: you probably have mud in the tires.

Both Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield won today. Both looked good doing it. The Panthers have no clue what to do at that position.
Watch, Bryce will get traded in the off-season and have an outstanding career.

Could be. He’ll have to improve at virtually everything though. His accuracy is terrible, arm strength is blah, and he doesn’t seem able to read the defense. Maybe that would come with time/ better coaching. He has no chance with no pass protection and no targets at the moment though.

No protection and no targets? Stop giving him excuses. They just spent $150 million on the offensive line, grabbed a receiver with their first draft pick, and traded for Diontae Johnson. At some point Bryce apologists are going to run out of excuses.

Not sure “He’ll have to improve at virtually everything though. His accuracy is terrible, arm strength is blah, and he doesn’t seem able to read the defense” = being an apologist. He is an objectively lousy QB who is also being hurt by poor protection and lack of targets.

He had protection yesterday and he was still abysmal.

Bottom of the barrel, baby!

At least according to one "Power Rankings". Probably lots of power rankings, but this is the one I'm quoting. Have season tickets been put on discount sale yet?

32. Carolina Panthers (0-1, Last Week: 31)

Nothing about the Panthers looked good in Week 1. But the real concern is Bryce Young. The problem with Young last season was there were so few "wow" moments from the first overall draft pick. But it was OK to give him a fresh start in his second season with a better cast. And the first game of his second season looked even worse. That should be really, really scary going forward for the Panthers.
