The Brotherhood Podcast (hosted by CFos)!

Kudos to, as he is apparently known, CFos, for taking on the hosting responsibilities. He's a little raw right now, but I am sure he'll grow into the role and I already like the different end-of-interview questions he's throwing at his guests. Gillis comes across as he was billed - older/mature, comfortable with who he is and what is role is meant to be, and quietly confident. Sounds like going to Duke was always a dream for him, which is cool. Coming from a guy that just played for the National Title, I liked hearing that he thinks we have one of the best squads he's ever seen.

Loving Mason even more after this interview. He comes across as such a mature, thoughtful young man.

Also fascinating to hear that Duke was still “his dream” after all those years at Purdue. If that childhood love for Duke sticks in the blood like it seems to have for Mason, our ability to mine the portal moving forward is going to be a strength.

When CFos and Proctor were on the podcast with Ryan Young after the season, Caleb said one of the things he was going to work on in the offseason was using his voice. I assume he mostly meant on the court and in the locker room, but he may be doing the podcast as part of his work.

Per the interview, this is a pretty cool piece of background info about Mason
I love that video! The at bat was a nice high pressure at bat and Mason’s and the other kids reactions were great.

I do wish the adult coaches would rein in the celebration a bit earlier. I understand getting excited, but you have another team of kids on the field who are probably experiencing one of the most devastating moments of their lives to-date. Let the kids celebrate and if you’re a grown I'm a real wanker for saying this. I'm a real wanker for saying this. man, act like you’ve been there before.

CFos is getting better at hosting. I'm glad he got a shot at the gig.
Facts! In fact, "facts", is CFO's version of Ryan Young's "most definitely".

Stuff I found interesting:
-They called Brown the most impressive defensive player due to his # of deflections. That was also something that was repeated on one of those IG reels where they have the camera set-up as the guys leave practice and they have to respond to a question, everyone saying Brown was the best defender because of the # of deflections he had at practice. I am happy to hear that Brown has so many deflections, but I will be very surprised if Cooper Flagg is not our best defender.
-They talked about KTriple being a great shooter, and that they were also surprised by his handles. They also lauded Gills' shooting.
-Both seem like good kids. Patrick is wearing #21 because of Tim Duncan. I also like that he played some soccer growing up.

The interviews with the transfer 23 year olds are an amazing contrast to the ones with the younger players - I guess college is a Boyz II Men transformation. Sion James not into video games?

A couple of interesting items:
-Sion adds to the KTriple hype train...says he's been the most surprising player to him so far as he does a little bit of everything and does it well.
-Says his goal is to be an efficient finisher around the rim
-Says he used to go to see Duke play against GTech and that he's been a big Duke fan for 10 years. That's one huge benefit of our brand with the transfers, while NIL will always play a large role, there are a lot of current 18-24 year olds who grew up rooting for Duke, a vast change from that same demo circa 2010.
-He has a charity organization from Nawlins that he is bringing to Durham. Hopefully he can synergize with the Emily K Center.
-Can't remember the last time a college hoops player said that their favorite non-basketball athlete was a tennis player.

Please fix the front page article about the podcast -

“When Rashad McCants transferred to Duke, we think he was the first or second guy to ever transfer in since Mike Krzyzewski took the reins in 1980.”

Ah, no he didn’t.

The front page always changes, so you always need to include a link for posterity.

Took me a while to translate: he meant to say Roshown McLeod. It's a pretty embarrassing mistake, even for DBR: Rashad McCants spent his whole career at UNC.

That would explain the tattoos. Born to be hated...transfers to Duke. Dying to be loved...roundly rejected by Duke fans.

The front page might think we got two players with the initials RM, but there can only be one.
