The Brotherhood Podcast (hosted by CFos)!

K complaining about how loud it is in Cameron really made my day. If there was one moment that revealed his age, that was it.

Somewhat to be fair... he said he was sitting in front of the band, with the cheerleaders in front of him too. But yes, when he was coaching, he wanted Cameron to be REALLY LOUD.

Sitting in front of the band is equivalent to sitting next to the scoreboard at Wallace Wade. It's unpleasant and whoever picked that seat out for him didn't think it through very much.

Well... from what I saw, Coach K and Miki were at the end of the front row, right next to the isle that lead back to the locker area... allows for quick exits without encountering many, if any, fans. Imagine if he was at the railing in the upper bowl at center court... may have taken him half an hour to exit. He also mentioned that he will go to some games this year... probably sit on the endline opposite the team bench, if I recall correctly.

Hire an agent, Ryan Young. The Brotherhood Podcast has reached Hollywood.

Variety: Duke’s Coach K Wants to Cameo in ‘The Bear,’ Sent Ayo Edebiri a Signed Copy of ‘Leading With the Heart’

When asked if he is currently watching any TV shows, Coach K told “Brotherhood” host Ryan Young that he had just binged “The Bear.”

“They actually talk about the book,” he said. “It ends up that the lead lady [Edebiri] is represented by CAA, and so am I. So I just sent her an autographed book of ‘Leading With the Heart,’ and I told my agent, ‘In the future, if they keep going, why don’t I do a cameo? Like go and have a meal maybe.’ It’s in my hometown, Chicago. And it’s a heck of a show.”

The Variety article embeds the podcast video. There's a similar article in TVLine.

Think this episode is a must watch on YouTube... Ryan is interviewing Jared while painting his nails live.

The Lucas interview is solid. While they didn't give up a lot of detail about the secret scrimmage, Jai said:
-The defense is ahead of where he thought it would be and maybe had more upside than he thought
-The interior defense seemed solid, based on what he was inferring, it seems like maybe we gave up too much dribble penetration

Other general items of interest, at least to me:
-His famous hooping father, John, taught he and his brother to play tennis before basketball. John was an AA in both basketball and tennis at Maryland.
-He came to Duke because of Jon. He liked that he was a guy close to his age and, despite that, seemed like a guy he could learn from. He said, from an outsiders perspective, the Duke program feels like a fortress - tough to get in.
-He and Ryan said Amile was extremely intense during after practice pick-up games in which some of the assistants would compete.
-The dude likes Rom Coms

One more

Great summary! He also said the Duke guards got sped up and panicked and missed Flip and Ryan open down low.

Episode 19. Ryan Young steps out of the studio and into waist-deep cold water with Jaylen Blakes Monday night, and they provide immediate reactions to the season opening win against Dartmouth. Blakes is more or less co-hosting here, and Young is still pretty good without a bunch of notes around him or a producer in his ear. No trivia this time.

Episode 20. From last week. Ryan Young talks to Caleb Foster after both have returned from the Champions Classic in Chicago, where Foster scored 18 against Michigan State.

Episode 21. Posted earlier today. Ryan Young talks to Justin Robinson, recently returned from Israel, where his third season of pro ball was cut short.

JRob has been playing pro in Israel and fled as soon as he could (a week) after 10/7. Very excited to hear that he'll be spending the rest of the season with our team in kind of an advisory role.

I think that was my favorite Brotherhood Podcast. Just reliving the JRob game through him was worth it. But there was so much more! Not to be missed. And welcome back JRob! Can’t imagine a better addiction to the staff.

JRob was great... and that podcast was great. JRob was so good at speaking that I could see him as the next Brotherhood podcast host... especially if he is connected with the team in any kind of role that seems like is being explored. Also his international experience, not only basketball, but life, is invaluable. I wouldn't expect that Ryan will continue as host after this year... but who knows??? The Brotherhood is apparently very alive and well, and especially strong. JRob mentioned a few times how he and Chip Engelland "connected" even with a 30 year difference between them.

Wither the Brotherhood podcast, now missing for 3 weeks. Finals break or elimination of distractions based on 3 early losses?

I was wondering about that--my hunch is that it's bad optics to be joking around during a tough stretch for the team.

Honestly, I would assume he could do both but who knows. K always did his Sirius radio show come rain or shine...but he's K.
