The big Bill Belichick & UNC football catch-all thread

I figured it would be the mermaid tail, but perhaps that's too big...

Oh, boy... A strategic vacation in Nantucket while the dumpster fire rages? I might need another popcorn maker—I'm wearing the current one out...
Bill seems to screwing with everyone....even for a guy who doesn't care one bit about optics.

Nah, it was sunny in Nantucket yesterday, where I guess Bill and Jordon are gameplanning for Clemson next week.

Nantucket isn’t exactly a hot bed of football talent so not like he is recruiting.

I went to a wedding there this time of year and it was beautiful - tourists are gone and the weather is still nice. But I wasn’t being paid millions to coach football.

Does anyone remember any coach in any sport taking a vacation in the middle of the season? Maybe days off for Thanksgiving and Christmas but to take a beach break? Did the players get the weekend off from practice?

From that fluff piece, times must be hard because it seems the TMZ staff are filled with people from the UNC School of Journalism
The vacation time is probably in the contract he drafted and Unc quickly rubber stamped or autopenned.

Was in Carrboro yesterday and saw a huge banner on Hwy. 54 celebrating the Big Bill hiring and congratulating Unc for the commitment. No mention of Jordon though.

Probably a workikng vacation, scouting locations for independent study classes for the football players.

For, you know, academics. 🤷‍♂️

Inappropriate and more so embarrassing... from the on-field meet-up after the UCF game to the "near mid-season" bye-week romantic R&R, apparently to get away from football??? What other coach has done such a thing???

All for the low, low price of $10 million/year.

Reading through IC for my regular dose of schadenfreude, many of their fans made excuses for the UCF loss by pointing out that their opponent was coming off a bye week and had more time to prepare. Nobody could reasonably expect the greatest coach in the history of the universe to overcome such an unfair advantage. This makes it all the more hilarious when Belichick now spends his own bye week on vacation. What excuse will they have when they lose to Clemson?

Clemson was a preseason top 5 team. They figured things out over their bye week. This is a good loss, all things considered.

I bet Dabo was working this weekend.

Live look at Hubert Davis as he realizes he is not presiding over the biggest train wreck on campus.

The Dabster has a myriad of reasons to paste unc this weekend...then he can also tell Billious that he gets paid more than the coach of the NFL's 33rd team.
I understand that Syracuse had their top QB play vs Clemson, but for the life of me I can't figure out why Clemson couldn't score against a Syracuse defense that was truly overmatched against Duke. The oddities of the futbol!

Every game is different.

They're all like that.

Yes, it is odd. Could our offense actually be better than Clemson's? Honestly, I think the answer might be yes, and that is (mostly) not a criticism of the Tigers.
And fwiw I don't understand the antipathy Dabo gets in these parts. He seems to run an admirably clean program and overall has had enviable success. He has a strong loyalty gene, and that is something in short supply these days. Yes, he can be unnecessarily thin-skinned at times, but that is hardly a mortal sin. Is he failing to adapt to a rapidly changing environment? Perhaps, and one can choose to criticize him for that (or the changes, I suppose), but criticism need not be accompanied by antipathy.
