Duke has never played at Maples.
Maybe the men haven't, but the women played there last season and took a heavily favored Cardinal team into overtime. Highlights:
Duke has never played at Maples.
That was a very good Stanford squad. Finished 12-2 overall and 7th in final AP Poll, after winning the Pac-12 Championship (over UCLA) and the Rose Bowl (over Wisconsin). In 2012, The Cardinal had their way with Duke at Palo Alto, 50-13
Burnsie-- I get your point, but I have a different calculation. For ordinary mortals (i.e. without charter flights) my calculation is that flights between 1-3 hours seem about the same, given departure for the airport 2 hrs. before flight time and arrival at actual destination an hour or so after flight. You knew there were going to be some ridiculous travel situations, and Duke volleyball gets one: a weekend in early November at SMU on Friday and at Pitt on Sunday.
So, charter or commercial? You knew there were going to be some ridiculous travel situations, and Duke volleyball gets one: a weekend in early November at SMU on Friday and at Pitt on Sunday.
Surprisingly, American has four nonstop flights a day from DFW to PGH. But a charter from Love Field, which is literally right down the street from SMU, would be a lot more efficient. So, charter or commercial?
I have a hard time believing the volleyball team takes charter flights during the season. So, charter or commercial?
But I bet Brett Favre's college team might!I have a hard time believing the volleyball team takes charter flights during the season.
Since it's not a huge attendance sport, I would not be surprised to see those games played early enough on Friday to ensure a late night flight to PIT. Both are AA friendly. I've seen very weird AA departure and landing times.Surprisingly, American has four nonstop flights a day from DFW to PGH. But a charter from Love Field, which is literally right down the street from SMU, would be a lot more efficient.
Well i mean, I heard there was so much extra money in college sports.......I have a hard time believing the volleyball team takes charter flights during the season.
And now Cal Legends has reportedly moved to the brand marketing side, posting up funds for billboards in ACC country (this billboard below is in Charlotte, North Carolina—Cal will play in-state on November 8th in Wake Forest). Sources confirm that there are several other billboards either already set up or being setup in other major ACC East Coast markets.
It might seem strange to do this type of marketing across the coast, but Cal has large alumni groups on the East Coast that have rarely been touched. Cal alumni outreach has been marginal at best in the past decades, so one of the most important ways to raise awareness for the brand is to try and activate those groups and let them know the Bears are coming out East regularly.
Come on, it wasn't that bad. I am sure there were lots of media members who had no idea that UCLA is in LA.They all did better introducing themselves to a new conference than first-year UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster, who crashed and burned at the Big Ten media event. A must-see:
Looks like another perfect day…Come on, it wasn't that bad. I am sure there were lots of media members who had no idea that UCLA is in LA.
Bwahahahaha!
The utter lack of preparation on his part, to not have anything remotely meaningful to say other than "we're in LA" is just appalling.
