Everton finally looked like a proper Premier League side in their fourth of five preseason friendlies. Goals from DCL and new signings O’Brien and Lindstrom clobbered Preston North End.

I think O’Brien might be the tallest non-keeper in the EPL since Peter Crouch.
 
How long before someone tells him about Coach K's Braveheart flaming air bit and he tries to top it. How do you even find professional pickpockets? It's not like they are in the yellow pages.

Spurs are apparently on the verge of shelling out £65 million for Dominic Solanke. Which sorta makes Richarlison the odd man out. Could he be headed back to Everton?
 
EPL kicked off with the Community Shield yesterday. City over United in PK to win which means they are cursed not to lift the league title. Only 1 in the last 13 Community Shield winners have gone on to win the title. Sorry Chicago 1995. I’m going to place a bet on them too when I’m in Vegas next week to cement the curse. My bad luck is a thing of legends.
 
Good, but not great, first match for my Gunners. Basically, the same lineup as last year, so should be more cohesive than we showed for a good part of the match.

But I'll take it.

Villa next. Would be good to get some revenge for last year's dropped points.

I'm not really sure how good the Chelsea side actually is this season, but that was a solid performance from City. We will see about the FFP stuff. I think the league is finally serious about trying to move that along (which I also think is possibly why Pep hasn't renewed, yet), so how they do on the field may be all but irrelevant. But pending that, their play looks to still be a threat.

They’ve added Riccardo Calafiori to what was probably the EPL’s best defensive. Jurrien Timber Is also coming back from injury. They are still one of the youngest teams in the league but a year older. People will say that they should have picked up a true strike but I think that would mess with the formation and chemistry. A committee of false nines gives them options up front and keeps the defense intact. I’m a bit sad to see us shed academy products but we are in that part of the team building cycle.
 
This is my fourth season as a member of Everton Football Club, and for the first time the members’ swag box has some useful items in it—coasters, a bottle opener, and a pen.
