Podcasts that talk about Duke Men's Basketball 2024-25

Is it some sort of sports podcasting requirement that at least one person has to wear a baseball cap, preferably backwards?

On the "Field of 68" DTF pod ACC Preview, Dauster and Ogelsby are incredibly high on Louisville. They are heavily influenced by having called their games in the Bahamas this fall.

On the CBS Pod, Norlander is all in on Wake.

Listening to all of these conference previews, it is kind of incredible to consider an 18 team conference. These guys are asked to basically power rank the teams and with all the newness from teams to players to coaches, it seems like a silly exercise...but maybe it always has been.

Devil's Den Episode 259 - ACC Media Day and Watching a Practice
First time I remember listening to John Watson. He's the guest on the second half of the podcast. Joins at 33:25.

He breaks down a practice, his anticipated rotation and how he sees this recruiting class filling out. Very knowledgeable guy - found myself agreeing with all his points.

If I am not mistaken, and some of the other old timers can back me up, John Watson was a long-time DBR poster known as Watzone before he became part of the Devil's Den start-up apparatus.

You’re thinking of Mark Watson. One of the Watsons would be quick to clarify that there’s no relation there.

John Watson *was* the Devil’s Den start-up apparatus, 20+ years ago at this point. He seems like a good dude.

Adam Rowe also posted here long ago, before he started up the 247 Duke site.

Interesting. The guy knows basketball. I won't attempt to summarize his view of the practice and our rotation, but here is his view of our recruiting class:

- does think it will be harder to fill out the roster with quality guys in the portal given our admission requirements and the fact that 5th year grad students like Sion and Mason are no more

- thinks we will trend toward at least a 4-person class with a real push to keep returnees - expects at least one of Proctor/Foster to return at PG

- thinks Acaden Lewis will be tough to get with our crowded backcourt and his options at KY and UConn

- thinks the staff is really high on Nate Ament and will go hard after him in the spring. Thinks we still have a good shot at Henderson and/or Khamenia on the wing.

Yes, Airowe...right? Thanks for the correction about Watson.

The Field of 68 with a different ACC preview...listen to Psycho T and Jon Henson be forced to talk about Duke

Honestly, these two guys started doing reports for Field of 68 last year and despite their obvious allegiances, and occasional shots at Duke, I find their analysis to be fair and informed.

Mark Watson was watzone on DBR and his site was DBN. I'm pretty sure that's right. Mark is a great guy and knows Duke basketball.

GoDuke!
