Northwestern Football Game

Due to a relative lack of money and excess of children on the part of my parents all the games I saw as a child were from the end zone. When as a Duke student I first sat in the student section at mid field and down pretty low I did not like it. High up from the end zone you can see the play developing much more clearly, IMHO.

ya many of us did this, waited a bit then skulked around looking for some empty seats...this stadium is unique in having essentially no sideline seats, but as you say, elevation is critical.
It is for this reason that you will generally find that when Duke visits other schools, we are assigned seats low down in the end zone or corner, worst seats in the house. No way you can see what's going on at the other end of the field.
We love sitting up high, we're under the tower at WW. But sometimes we get outfoxed..a few years ago we got great seats in the upper deck at Northwestern, but the wind up there was genuinely crazy, a constant 40 mph or so, we had to skulk down to the lower deck. That pesky Lake Michigan.

I just got notified of the pre-sale by Northwestern's ticket office, but it's only for season tix....The available seatmap is below. The CHEAPEST season tickets are in the 8-18 to 8-23 section and are $549 + a required $500 contribution. I obviously won't be getting those.....The sideline only has singles available at this point ($599 + $750 contribution). Oddly, the lower level end zones are more at $549 + $1500 contribution and the 8H sections (the ones on the far left) are the most expensive at $1299 + $1750 required contribution. Wonder if those are boxes or something, no idea. But looks like a lot of the season tix/seats got snatched up already by NU boosters/others. Still not available to "general public" though yet...Single game tickets apparently go on sale in August. Oh, and the Northwestern vs. Ohio St game at Wrigley has tickets for as low as $92 (same price as the Duke game), but most are in the $150-$300 range.....

So which of the gray areas belong to Duke?
No idea but shockingly (to me) it appears Duke has sold out its allotment for this game. Perhaps non Duke people snatched up some of the seats. The Northwestern game doesn't show up anymore....at Miami, Ga Tech, NC State and Wake still has availability....

Single ticket public pre-sale is now available....I can share a link probably if somebody wants.

I snatched two tickets front row around the 10-yard line on the west side for $109 each. More than the Duke pre-sale but not endzone seats. Oddly, the north end zone seats up high are $169? Not sure why. The low end zone seats are $400. And the south end zone is $89 (+$4 ticket fee) which is probably where the Duke pre-sale was. Is there something wrong with my front row seats then? Probably....the whole section is that same price though. It's only 5 rows total that side of the field. We shall see! Overpriced probably, but I don't get to see Duke locally too often and a Friday night September game could be fun....

As I asked before in this thread, who pays $400 per seat to watch Duke play Northwestern in what is essentially a junior high school football stadium?? Frankly, they would have to PAY ME $400 to watch that game in person.

Enjoy the game...and the opportunity to see the guys in your neck o' the woods!

Evanston HS would like to have a word with you in private. :)
I believe that is "Evanston TOWNSHIP High School" - my MIL is an alum. She also has a grad degree from THE Ohio State University.

I saw a posting in my LinkedIn feed that Northwestern is hiring a new AD.

I decided to check how many Texas high school stadiums seat more spectators than the one in which actual Big Ten games will be played. At least three: Canyon (just south of Amarillo), Mesquite, and Allen (both Dallas-area).

but at Mesquite they burn all the seats after the games(for obvious reasons) so they have start over again.

Here's a video of the stands as they exist now:

I'm liking my front row facing east sideline choice now....

It will definitely be a different atmosphere than a large stadium, but not like Northwestern-Duke at the old stadium was a packed/rocking affair (and, yes, I've gone). It was about half empty for the 40,000-seat stadium. (note: all NU-Duke games have been before semester begins at NU).
