I’m happy for the Lions and their fans. I have no resentments against y’all. Well, other than the 1991 playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.Just to give an indication of how giddy we Lions fans are about having a team that doesn't suck, the second question to Shane Steichen after yesterday's Lions win was whether the Colts had been forced to use a silent count.....in a game played in their own stadium.
But the disappointment from that loss didn’t last long as the Cowboys went on to win 3 of the next 4 Super Bowls led by one of the greatest offensive lines in history supplemented by one of the all-time great skill position groups of QB, WR, RB, and TE — Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and Jay Novacek.
I’d be more than happy to see Detroit go all the way this year. And I honestly think there’s a good chance it’ll happen. Still, those pesky Vikings are only a game behind. There’s a showdown looming with the Lions on January 5 that might be for the division crown as well as home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
