NFL 2024-25 General Discussion

So is this finally Buffalo’s year? The Bills have the best offense of the top AFC teams and the defense is solid. I’m rooting for it because my wife is from Buffalo and my teams are a bit challenged at staying healthy and winning.
They're still likely to have to go to Arrowhead and win in the playoffs.
Exactly. Look, I’m really glad the Bills won yesterday. But there is no team in the AFC that I believe can go into Arrowhead in the playoffs and beat the Chiefs. No way. No how.

I think the Chiefs proved that they can go on the road and win a playoff game last season. Doesn't mean they will this year but the claim that they only win because they play at home has been proven incorrect.

Honestly, I think that’s more function of playing both the Bills and the Ravens - two teams that have shown they know how to choke like none other in the AFC. I’m not saying that Kansas City can’t win on the road, but playing at home is sure a lot more favorable for them. And until a quarterback and team emerges in the AFC who won’t choke in the big game, I see Kansas City continuing to win and go to the Super Bowl again and again.

Plating ar home is more favorable for any team. Maybe not the Cowboys. 😉

Probably but I broke down the remaining schedules and Buffalo’s is much easier. KC was very fortunate to get this far undefeated and is very vulnerable. However, I am also aware that playoff KC is a different animal. We will see but history is against KC winning the Super Bowl…

I’m hoping the tougher AFC West will catch-up to the Chiefs and give the Bills homefield advantage. The Bills have 3 games left against teams .500 or better and two of those are the Rams and 49ers (the other is Detroit) The Chiefs have four games against teams over .500 including the Steelers, Chargers, Broncos and Houston. On paper, the Bills’ schedule is much easier.
The Chiefs really miss Rashee Rice. He was Mahomes favorite target last season, and it paid off for them. I thought Worthy would have been that same kind of receiver, but for some reason it has not worked out that way on a consistent basis.

True, but it's also against Buffalo winning it. :)

Well, Kansas City is getting some key players back from injury soon — WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, RB Isiah Pacheco and DE Charles Omenihu. And even without those guys they went into Buffalo and were within a 4th-down stop of only needing to go a relatively short distance to kick the game-winning field goal.

I still expect Kansas City to beat Buffalo if they meet in the playoffs. But it will almost certainly be yet another titanic clash. Can’t wait!

We live in hope!
And now it looks like Cee Dee Lamb may miss the game with a couple of injuries. As a Commander fan, it won't hurt my feelings too much but I hate to see a player injured. Especially since I have Lamb on 2 of my fantasy football teams.

GoCommanders! Man, it's so awkward not saying Redskins.

Just to give an indication of how giddy we Lions fans are about having a team that doesn't suck, the second question to Shane Steichen after yesterday's Lions win was whether the Colts had been forced to use a silent count.....in a game played in their own stadium.

Is it just me but it seems NFL officiating is worse than usual this year. When Collinsworth and the NFL expert say its not PI, then it probably is not. One example from last night.
