New Cameron "Scoreboard”

I don't know if anyone else who attends Cameron shares my view, but the so-called scoreboard is atrocious. It is little more than giant TV screen for a court easily in view to everyone (we're not PNC). As a result, a tiny portion of the screen offers wonderful statistics, etc. which are barely visible cramped down at the bottom.
 
This is correct. I am having a debate with myself over whether I am simply not the target audience in Cameron or whether the people making decisions about the scoreboard are incompetent. You nailed it: It’s definitely for people who want to see the same replays while at the game which can be seen any number of other places while not for people who are interested in the really great stat.
 
I agree. In my opinion, the screen is too busy with terrible angles to watch replays.....at least from my seat. As far as the stats are concerned, the old scoreboard gave me all I REALLY needed to know.
 
I can’t read the Duke player stats from section 7; can barely make out visiting real player stats. Way too small and the angle is bad. But they’re even hard for me to read in sect 15 ( flush with screen) for women’s game. If they would occasionally flash the individual stats of all players in the game, where they put the team stats, I’d be satisfied; they do flash an individual player’s stats, but it’s only when they go to FT line.
 
I have disliked the new scoreboard since the first time I saw it at
Countdown. I don’t like the actual score being at the bottom of the contraption, it should be at the top. Sometimes tough to see how many fouls a player has.
 
I like the video replays on the new scoreboard looking better. Everyone gets to yell about what a lousy job the refs are doing in hi-def. I don't find the stats that hard to keep up with. For me, the new board is an upgrade overall, with a couple small things that the previous one did better with.

I like the new scoreboard. I’ve pulled stats on my phone for ages. Now I can embarrass my kid with pics! Couldn't get pics from the old one.

Agree with this 100%! IMO they took something that wasn’t broke and tried to fix it…and failed.
 
The old videoboards have needed an upgrade for awhile, but the replacement is awful. I expected them to design something better than what we got, something unique to Cameron. It will be worse when they add the four corner videoboards in Phase II.
