NBA 2024-25 General Discussion Thread

Khaman seems to be a pretty trendy pick to Toronto at 9. He would be a perfect fit in Phoenix at 10. I wonder if Phoenix can jump them cause no one else is really all that intriguing after that.

I'm not sure he's a #1 or #2 for a title contender at this point in his career.
I mean was he ever? I get the stats but outside of joining the Golden St. dynasty it has been one disappointing season after another.

And of course management always gets the blame on each of his stops, which completely glosses over the fact that KD had massive input on what each of those rosters looked like.

I always thought KD is/was more interested in his brand and things outside of basketball than actually winning championships.

I’m assuming you were just joking with this comment.

There was a time when Kevin Durant was considered by many basketball writers and commentators to be THE best player in the entire sport. For you to then ask if he has ever been on the level of a #1 or #2 for a title contender is honestly kind of laughable. Come on, man. SMH 🤦‍♂️

The Sam Presti Coronation. Amazing to think that sans Hurricane Katrina, this team is probably not in OKC. What a great young core, can they beat back the disease of more? We can think about that another day. Hats off to the young turks and respect to Indiana. On to what really drives interest in the NBA, the draft and free agency.

Absolutely heartbreaking for Haliburton and the Pacers. That loss will linger in the franchise’s memory until they finally capture an NBA title. They went from having a real shot at winning last night—and being early favorites in the East next season—to suddenly facing some tough, existential questions about their future.

As a ex-pat Sonics fan, it enrages me a bit.
