NBA 2024-2025 General Discussion Thread

No doubt that Haliburton and Brunson are both incredibly clutch right now. Interestingly enough, for the playoffs, I guess we have to put Aaron Gordon in the mix as well.

I would like to see Tatum added to the list before the playoffs finish. He had several chances the other night. Will probably get a few more going forward.

Who owns the team but Bennett?
The team is owned by the creatively named "Professional Basketball Club LLC," of which Bennett is the chair and principle owner. The late Aubrey McClendon, of Chesapeake Energy and the namesake of McClendon Tower, owned a sizeable minority stake, and his estate still controls a share of the team (according to Wikipedia anyway). I remember tuning into a Thunder game circa 2009 and seeing one of the McClendons I graduated with sitting courtside.

And don’t forget about Nikola Jokić. He’s the most clutch athlete in existence, playing at an extremely-high level 98% of the time, wire to wire.

New York deserved this game, and if they keep playing like this, they absolutely deserve the series. They are playing harder. They want it more.

Jayson Tatum has shown he is not clutch. I got flack for saying that last year, but I’m saying it again. He and Jaylen Brown are “too cool for school”. No urgency. No fire. These guys couldn’t lace Larry Bird’s sneakers.

The series is actually making me want to pull for the Knicks now.
