NBA 2024-2025 General Discussion Thread

And...LeBron got hurt last night (groin). That'll shake things up a bit. I'm not a fan of his, but I'm a fan of JJ so I was enjoying the Laker's resurgence.

Of course it's been great seeing the Warriors get it going after the trade for Butler. It would be great if they could make another run, win another ring.

Mavs only had 7 healthy players that could play last night. I’m convinced they’re in the early stages of a sports curse for trading Luka.

Apparently the nuances of the cap prevent them from picking up another player. I’m supportive of the concept of the cap but for the league this seems to be cutting off its nose to spite its face.

Commentator: ā€œ[insert team name] is the worst run organization in sportsā€

Dallas Mavericks brass: ā€œHold my beer!ā€

As a Commanders fan, I am so happy to not have "The Washington Commanders" be a legitimate replacement for [insert team name] after decades of being an appropriate replacement. Maybe Dan Snyder can buy the Mavs, seems like they have become his type of organization. I wish Cuban was still in charge...

Could Cuban run the team and also run for President? Apparently he believes not.

Jayson Tatum apparently avoided a serious ankle injury (much like Cooper) last night. Sabonis lunges at Jayson as he shoots a step-back 3, causing Tatum to come down on Sabonis's foot and twist his ankle. I hate that play more than any other type of foul in basketball.

Let's just hope and pray that my Charlotte Hornets get the #1 pick. I don't wanna hear any Hornets slander! I'm sick of it... we deserve a winner... the fans are beyond ready to explode in support of a respectable team. Time for Duke alum Adam Silver to rig it for Charlotte for once. Only had the #1 pick once; Larry Johnson.

Coop would instantly turn them into a play-in contender IMO. You could trade LaMelo for picks and build around Coop and Brandon Miller. Would be very solid. Coop would be an icon across the Hoops State and would finally turn the Hornets into a perennial playoff team again. One of the new owners is Rick Schnall, who was the co-MVP a K Academy one year and the other, Gabe Plotkin, is a Mainer... soooo... make it happen Adam!!
