I haven't seen the photo you are referring to, but I saw the news conference. But yes, the leather jacket, gold chain, black tee shirt looks like someone who auditioned for Goodfellas.Have y’all seen the photo of Luka holding his brand new Lakers jersey while standing in between JJ and Rob Pelinka? If not, look it up. Pelinka in this photo just strikes me as the biggest wannabe cool guy — but isn’t — that I’ve seen in quite some time. It’s hilarious![]()
"Lost and desperate" is subjective but the fact that the Warriors apparently asked literally every team with a star if they were willing to trade seems pretty desperate to me. There's been recent reporting that while GS used to be a "destination" for NBA stars it is now a place that players want to avoid. Not sure what has happened there but to me they seem to have lost their way.I don't see the GSW as lost and desperate. They have 2 guys late in their careers who are very good and have a handful of rings. Klay Thompson aged out of being what they needed him to be. Kaminga hasn't gotten there yet IMHO. With the roster they had, they were not going to go far this year. Just too many role players, some of whom haven't played their role all that well. So trying to improve at the trade deadline seems more logical than desperate. Note I really like GSW and Curry is my favorite player. There aren't that many players that I say I just don't like. Two that come to mind are Dillon Brooks and Jimmy Butler (and every UNCheat player ever). If Butler plays well for the Warriors, has a decent attitude and makes the team better, it'll be interesting to see if I change my opinion. Right now, even though it makes them better, a part of me is bummed because I don't want to root for him. Reminds me of when Harrison Barnes (aka Harry Skype) was on GSW - and of course that ended with Barnes going 0-10 in game 7 and costing the Warriors a ring.
Jason, you're pretty sharp on all sports. So, I'll ask this question. What MLB team had it's best minor league team play one year in the Superdome and what year? Hint, one of the players went on to be a Hall of Famer. By the way the team was called the Pelicans. The word is that the Pels are keeping both Zion and CJ McCollum.

Every team should be desperate to win a championship. I thought it screamed midlife crisis. Or the Fonz's water skiing buddy.I haven't seen the photo you are referring to, but I saw the news conference. But yes, the leather jacket, gold chain, black tee shirt looks like someone who auditioned for Goodfellas.
Celtics/Warriors/Cowboys/Duke fan? Interesting mix for sure. I think you may have all the regions of the US covered minus the Midwest. Can I interest you in some young bloods on the Cavs?Every team should be desperate to win a championship. That’s what you want as a fan.
I wish Jerry Jones were “desperate” to win the Super Bowl. He just seems content to own the most valuable sports franchise in the world (Dallas Cowboys) while consistently hiring weak head coaches who he can boss around. As far as I’m concerned he’s a loser.
Isn't that the "LA look"??I haven't seen the photo you are referring to, but I saw the news conference. But yes, the leather jacket, gold chain, black tee shirt looks like someone who auditioned for Goodfellas.
I... don't know.Isn't that the "LA look"??

Well, maybe but also pretty obvious their prime window has closed.Draymond Green happened there.
Well, his franchise has increased in value by about $11,000,000,000 since he bought it. That’s likely more than the combined net worth of all DBR readers (maybe notEvery team should be desperate to win a championship. That’s what you want as a fan.

In spite of my DBR nickname, I'm a Patriots/Celtics/Red Sox/Duke fan (among many others), so even though I joke around with some of my 'Yankee' counterparts here, I'm a Bostonian sports fan at heart. At work everyone knows I’m a Blue Devil, Yankees and Celtics fan. I’m not a LeBron fan, either. I like him fine off the court, but not so much on it. He mainly just plays bully ball, and that is neither aesthetically-pleasing nor particularly impressive skill-wise. It is a testament to strength, determination and physicality, however.
Yes, Luka is highly-skilled on offense, maybe more than anyone save Jokic. However, I’m doubtful that he will ever be lean and in tremendous shape. He’s already had seven years in the NBA to get there and is still not even close.
I certainly bring down the average DBR income.Well, his franchise has increased in value by about $11,000,000,000 since he bought it. That’s likely more than the combined net worth of all DBR readers (maybe not). But I agree with your overall sentiment.
I went through over 30 years of the desert with the Patriots. Same with the Red Sox. Now, for me the desert includes getting to a championship game once a decade without winning it. It's a killer to only be good once in while and still lose in the end. So those two franchises really put me through it for my entire childhood and young adulthood before I saw any "fruit" from my fandom. In that respect, it was over 20 years before I saw Duke finally win it all.At work everyone knows I’m a Blue Devil, Yankees and Celtics fan. They accuse me of only rooting for winners
I have to remind them I went through 25 or so years in the desert with Daniel Snyder.
