Movies/TV worth watching (or at least discussing)

So I made a bit of a job change and I work at night now. This means I now have A LOT more time for shows and movies.

Over the past ~month I’ve watched (and completed) the following but would like recommendations for more must sees.

- The Wire (probably a top 5 show ever imo)

- The Sopranos (Liked it, thought it was a bit formulaic for a bit but the ending was great)

- Adolescence (Best acting I’ve seen in years)

- Severance (Very underwhelming, I see now why most people I know dropped it, I doubt I’ll continue as well)

- The Last of Us (Best game to show series ever but just okay as far as cinema goes)

- White Lotus (This is close to my top 5 I think but I’d need to sit down and truly think about it, absolutely brilliant)

I just started The Boys and it’s good so far (nearly done with S1), next I’m going to start one of Mad Men, Twin Peaks, or The Americans

I think if I had to answer right now off the top I’d say my favorite shows ever would be: Dark, The Wire, Succession, and Chernobyl. What shows do yall think I need to add under my belt?
The replies are missing an entire category of great British crime dramas:

Sherlock
Broadchurch
Luther
The Fall
Line of Duty
Slow Horses
The Tunnel
Bodyguard
Capture

The list is in my order of favorites. Sometimes I need subtitles but all of these were fantastic. They also tend to be short series so manageable number of episodes.

I've seen six of these series and all are good but Sherlock, The Fall and Line of Duty are the cream of the crop, IMO.

Loved Broadchurch

Has anyone watched "Dept Q" on Netflix?

British / Scottish crime drama. Flawed protagonist, but not too flawed. I found it binge-worthy. Love the Akram character. Just seeing if I was the only one.

Watched it last week. Really liked it. I too thought Akram was great, but really, I liked the whole team.

Thought the mystery got a bit convoluted and maybe too twisty, but the characters were great enough that I'm hoping Season 2 will come quickly.

Big piece on that in TIME this week, I look forward to it, Goode and Kelly McDonald are very watchable.

Meanwhile The Bear returns on Wednesday, and tonight I'm peeking at The Gilded Age (recorded from Sunday on PBS)...Carrie Coon is always fun to watch..

I need to do a quick refresher on where it left off.
They were making gorgeous-looking food and were worried about the financial future of the restaurant.
