I liked Travelers. Good show and vehicle for Eric McCormick in a straight, serious role!Just started the Travelers which is holding my interest after 3 episodes. Jury is still out on it though.

My reaction was more basic. Turning Mr. Phelps into a villain was unforgivable in my universe. That, plus my gag reflex whenever and wherever I see Tom Cruise, has kept me far away from the rest of the series.Yes. Jim Phelps, mastermind and spy extraordinary, shots his wife instead of Ethan, the only threat? I forgive a lot in movies...i let go of a lot in that movie.. but not that. I have a 29 year argument with a friend about it. Speaking of which, if I lived in Atlanta we'd be closing the loop on the franchise. It would be the only reason I see it in theaters.
Yeah I wasn't thrilled about that either. My parents watched the original series and we watched the revival as a family a decade later. My reaction was more basic. Chan and Macchio actually play smaller roles than you might think and don’t do all that much other than some badly needed doses of humor and provide obvious platitudes.
I think it is near impossible to follow Cobra Kai in this franchise. CK is such a guilty pleasure and hits all the right vintage 80s notes.I'm a fan of Cobra Kai and The Karate Kid, so I had high hopes for Karate Kid Legends. Sadly, it was predictable and not all that interesting.

Don't disagree with any of this commentary but I will say the movie definitely landed with our 11- and 8-year old boys. They found it a very good time at the movies. Not the most discerning of reviewers, to be sure.I'm a fan of Cobra Kai and The Karate Kid, so I had high hopes for Karate Kid Legends. Sadly, it was predictable and not all that interesting.

Anyone have thoughts on the King of the Hill revival?
I’m cautiously optimistic since it’s still Judge but it’s part of my childhood nostalgia so that’s a tough hill to climb.
Yeah, as I noted...Don't disagree with any of this commentary but I will say the movie definitely landed with our 11- and 8-year old boys. They found it a very good time at the movies. Not the most discerning of reviewers, to be sure.
it seems to be aimed at early teens who may not notice some of the strange choices made here.
My wife and I just finished Season 6 of The Handmaid's Tale. We thought the entire season was pretty weak, with the series finale being the cherry on top (in a bad way). By the end, I found most of the characters annoying (with June leading the charge) and the dialogue often ridiculous. I feel like Season 6 could have been so much better. Oh well....

(This was intended to be humorous so thank you for taking as such). Why don’t you let HER post this?!?!
It was a great response(This was intended to be humorous so thank you for taking as such).
Yeah, I was going to say it was too difficult for her to type with missing fingers, but didn’t think it would land.It was a great response
I watched it all. And it just was all a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale for me. Honestly I thought The Man in the High Castle was a bit like this as well. Maybe I would rank Man in the High Castle a touch higher. But barely. Both shows were good and entertaining, but they should have been great. Sneaky brilliant. Why don’t you let HER post this?!?!
Maybe I’m not understanding your point (or not remembering the Man in the High Castle correctly), but what was too easy about the descent into fascism for that show? The Germans won the war - it’s the premise of the show.I watched it all. And it just was all a 6.5 on a 1-10 scale for me. Honestly I thought The Man in the High Castle was a bit like this as well. For both shows, they were just too "easy". The descent into fascism was just a bit too easy. And the reclamation was just a bit too easy. Both needed to be a little grittier. And then there is the problem with the characters. I cared about 2 total characters in The Handmaids Tale. And one was affiliated (the correct term I think) with the bad guys. Bradley Whitford had an absolute scene stealing performance in this show. He was EASILY the most compelling character. Dominated every scene he was in.
The other incredibly likeable character was Alma, played by Nina Kiri. She was just insanely likeable. But I didn't feel like June was. I just never cared about any of the other characters. And I have loved Yvonne Strahovski since her days on Chuck.
The Man in the High Castle and The Handmaid's Tale are both incredibly topical. They should have been the defining shows of our time. And instead they were just good. You MUST make me care about the characters. And neither show managed to do that.
I understood ClemmonsDevil to be suggesting that much like Handmaid's Tale, MITHC had a good start and lots of potential, but didn't really land the plane very well.Maybe I’m not understanding your point (or not remembering the Man in the High Castle correctly), but what was too easy about the descent into fascism for that show? As an aside, Rufus Sewell is great in the Diplomat alongside Keri Russell.
