Hmmm … I’d say Cooper, Tyrese, Sion and Kon were our 4 best players tonight. They all had good +/-

Coincidence? No. It’s just one of many metrics, and has some value, particularly when used along with other metrics. If you prefer, look at the box score for these guys.

It is not always wrong. It does correlate with performance but it is extremely noisy. It means something over a season but in a single game it can be very misleading. For single games it is a garbage stat.
 
I went with Tyrese, who not only led the team in points, but had the best A:TO on the team (OK, outside of Big Pat, who had one turnoverless assist), and also collected a few rebounds, all while playing excellent defense. I thought Tyrese provided the even keel that Cooper didn't quite find.
