So I just mentioned not to read too much into the wheelchair, so I'll qualify this by saying I'm probably reading too much into the following... but as long as there's an x-ray machine at the venue, which I imagine there is, then x-rays have most likely already been taken. A broken ankle would be quick to diagnose off of x-rays. We just saw Cooper's parents on TV in the stands celebrating one of the Duke makes, I really think they would have already been called back into the locker room if Cooper's ankle was broken.

We’ll get Cooper back. But I’m confident Maliq is done for the year. Which is a devastating loss.
If its another dislocation, I bet he'll hold off surgery until after Duke's season is done. If he has a shot to play in a final 4, he'll do it. But its obvious he'll need surgery long term to fix that issue

Love the fellowship and fight from the guys. Great to put Cooper back on the bench. Great for him. Sends a message to the rest of the college hoops world.

I'll just never feel that way. Seen too much Duke basketball and too much basketball in general where the least expected outcome becomes reality. It ain't over til the fat lady sings. We have a really good and a really deep team with a great Coach.

I think Cooper could make it back for a game in 10 days. He would not be 100%, but we have Duke medical on our side.
Thank you for this post. Jesus Christ half of this board should be on Thorazine.

You couldn’t write a worse first half for Duke if you tried
Those types of halves and games are moderately common for the underdog when you get a single/double bye. The advantage comes back on day 3-day 4 when the legs can really start to wear out for jumpers...unless you are Yukon or NCSU (too soon).

For this team, it's really not a devastating loss. Maliq is a great player, and we'll be a worse team defensively without him, but Evans - a future NBA starter - and Ngongba will see more time, as well as Gillis. It's an extreme luxury to have those kinds of players get more playing time after losing a 6th man.
