Obviously lots to like about this performance, even against an overmatched opponent. I was trying to watch the bigs to see how they responded with Maliq out. Khaman continued his improved play. Pat showed he’s capable 1-on-1 defensively in the post but definitely struggled in rotations: there was a clear drop off in the team D in his minutes. I’m of the mind that that can be fixed with more PT.. I’d be more concerned if he was clearly lost in post defense, which wasn’t the case (he wasn’t great, obviously, but Kidd is also a very good player).

Oh, and Purdue Mason Gillis may have finally arrived.

Not much to nitpick in this one. That was a beat down. Man Man and Kon were awesome, and it was good to see some of the bench guys show their stuff. Gillis’ jump shot is really heating up. Its hard to believe we once thought this team was a bad 3 point shooting team after the last few games. 17 for 32 is ridiculous.

Signs of life from Caleb Foster! He wasn’t looking to score at first, but found other ways to contribute. That’s what we need from him off the bench.

Tyrese has been on a bit of a cold streak, hope he gets back on track soon.

Didn't even need Flagg and he goes for 13/7/6 with a steal.

Knueppel was the beneficiary of some very good ball movement. Credit to him for knocking them down as well.

Gillis has caught back up.

And there are so many storylines game to game that rather quietly Maluach is turning into a weapon before our eyes. He had 12 and 15 with a block in only 20 minutes. He had only one foul and no turnovers.

Foster gave some improved minutes tonight if not super game impacting.

Proctor was quiet but we just have too much good play from too many good players that it doesn't even matter.

Miami was overmatched yet we still appropriately gave their biggest deficit of the season and beat the KP spread both offensively and defensively.

We're good.

Lots to love:

Obviously K2. I was asking for an 8-10 breakout game. He got close.

Hopefully this good shooting night gets Foster going. Jon let Caleb shoot the two tech FTs and he knocked the both down. Nice move, Coach.

Ngongba should not look this good as little as he has played. It wasn't a perfect game but he will be a beast for us next year.

There will be some NBA GMs who regret passing on Khaman. The baby hooks tonight were beautiful. Ceiling is so high.

Darren Harris got a few minutes of run with the starters. Didn't embarrass himself at all.

Much more like it tonight. Gillis is finally playing effectively and will be great to have him playing smart basketball. Caleb seeing his shots go in will hopefully get him going. Khaman was dominating. Liked his half sky hook. Ngongba got reps and will get better. Cooper needs to completely stop with the spin move . 6 turnovers is not good but wasn’t an issue tonight. Proctor didn’t look sharp in his shooting 0fer.
Kon great game MOM and then some.
Evans is not a one trick pony
That board statement is unjustified
Harris got minutes. Scheyer’s rotation is successful

Caleb made 1-2 of the tech FTs.
But I agree that it was great that Coach gave it to Caleb.

Thoughts:
Miami concentrated on stopping Flagg which opened 3 point shooters.

Kneuppel took advantage of his open looks plus was solid on defense

Maluach is getting better week by week and is a force inside

Gillis continues to integrate in with the offense

At least Foster scored tonight. He still brings the ball into the middle and wastes time dribbling without a seeming plan

Ngongba had a creditable game. Good to see him get minutes

Proctor wasn't contributing tonight. Is this a new trend?
