MBB: Duke 78, Georgia Tech 70 Postgame Thread

Survive and advance! I agree with Corey Alexander (huh?!) that Coop should sit until the NCAAs unless he is at literally 100%. Kon will be top of the scouting report and we'll see how he responds. He played incredibly strong today (figuratively and literally). MOTM for me.
In a similar "huh?!" moment, I actually agree with Joel Berry on the postgame—if Cooper can play, without risk of exacerbating things, he should. Having him and the team get out of rhythm going into the tournament by being over cautious sounds like the story of many great teams entering March that don't end up hanging banners.

A week or two ago I posted that if Cooper wasn't on this team, Kon might average 20/5/5 and be ACC POY. 28/5/8 today.

I'm not convinced Maliq won't be back. Remember he'd been telling Jon that he could play for 2 weeks. If it's just a pain issue, and there's no risk of further damage, I bet he returns. He probably needs surgery in the offseason regardless.

Coach Boeheim said the same thing. If he can play, he should play. He said the best way to get ready for the tournament is to play in these types of games. Gonna agree. Let's pray that he can.

I would agree if we had more than 2 games left, but I think maximizing his effectiveness would be the goal. Our 16 seed would be an opportunity to get back in sync.

Absurd. What would you have Coach do? Play the bench and lose the game? What kind of a look is that? We are competing for an ACC Championship, with whomever are our best available players. What are you holding the starters for, exactly?

To prevent injury and letting the bench that is more talented than all the ACC teams with the exception of maybe UNC get more burn.
