No question Karl Hess got that one right. Hanging on the rim given the proximity of opposing players by itself probably was OK. I don't see Duke hanging 116 on FL in a couple weeks. The T was worth it

Incredible athleteThe T was worth it
Thank you for posting this video. It reminded me how wonderful it is to never have to listen to Len Elmore again. The T was worth it
I never suggested CM was anywhere near the players those others were (I saw Thompson live), just that hisWhoa, camel! I loved Maggette, but IMO that's a bit too far. Those 3 are in the pantheon of ACC freakishly athletic greats. I think their last years outweighed Maggette's one year.
But if you want to compare freshmen years, I'll entertain the argument. We don't really even know what DT did, since freshmen didn't play varsity back then... but given what he did just as a soph (and remember, no dunks allowed), my money would still be on him sight unseen. Jordan had El Deano putting reins and a bit on him really all 3 years he played and deferred to Worthy and Perkins often. And Bias wasn't the force he became just yet, but it was evident he was a freak in waiting. But even then we still don't know truly what Maggette was given the rest of the team around him and his own deference.
All that being said: if we continue to regularly discuss Sarr in a Maggette comparison, I'll be happy.

Yes, that’s what I got watching the video. Why Elmore was ever hired as an announcer is beyond me.Thank you for posting this video. It reminded me how wonderful it is to never have to listen to Len Elmore again.
Funny, I was noticing during the game that he isn't really appreciably taller than Evans. But then, given the speculation on that topic around here, probably everyone on the team is at least 6'9". Even Cayden, if you measure from the top of the hair.how tall is Dame? Listed at 6'8", he look taller than Maliq and as tall as Cameron. Time to get out the cinder blocks.
Lesson learned. He had a less pronounced version against the Cheaters in Chapel Hell. The T was worth it
I love Maggette's look of apparent bewilderment after the tech is called. What? On me!?Thank you for posting this video. It reminded me how wonderful it is to never have to listen to Len Elmore again.
Agree. IMO DT is still the greatest basketball player the ACC has ever seen. His career combination of grace, power, productivity, winning and aura has never been matched. The argument only can start for the #2 spot and below.I saw DT play as a freshman and knew a guy who played on the Duke freshman team against him. I still remember the stories which were amazing. There was no one like David Thompson in the ACC, ever, even Zion because Thompson was uber skilled and always LITERALLY rose to the occasion.

I don't disagree, but I think Laettner matches or surpasses Thompson in the productivity, winning, and aura categories.Agree. IMO DT is still the greatest basketball player the ACC has ever seen. Oh man! I was at this game (my senior year, shout out Tent # 14 aka “Nate’s Dogg Pound”). Love to relive it. But also, holy smokes there was a ton of NBA talent on that floor. We blew out a team that featured Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem. Those were the days! The T was worth it
