Maliq Brown injury vigil

I found it interesting that Coach Scheyer described Wake with the phrase "in addition to their usual good offense". Wake's T-rank offensive efficiency is 106, 185th in DI; that seems average not good (nor bad). As are many here, I am expecting Sallis or Hildreth (hopefully not both) to perform better than average .
Yeh, I don't know of any coach giving the other team bulletin board material before a game. Like you said, Sallis or Hildreth or both will probably shoot the 3-ball better against us.

GoDuke!

Iā€™ve done a little house cleaning here. A very important reminder: we do NOT allow posts that are along the lines of, ā€œI have a source, trust me,ā€ outside of the very well documented minor exceptions for the members of the DBR family that are journalists (ie, the podcast crew).

If you have a nugget of info but you canā€™t divulge your sources, you likely canā€™t post it here. You can always reach out to a mod to explain the circumstances and ask for guidance if itā€™s a grey area.

Sorry. Makes sense.

On Wake Forest podcast Jason Evans said he thinks Brown comes back against UNC
I want to be clear that I have no inside info on this other than the fact that Maliq began practicing at the end of last week. I was told a while ago that once he was back at practice they would probably wait "about a week" before letting him play in games again.

anyway, to me this says he is progressing.. shooting etc. but no real cutting yet. But back on the court so some progress
Yep. Assuming he has a Grade 2 Sprain, the recovery window is 3-6 weeks

This is much more encouraging than the poster who said ACC tournament. God I'd hate to lose to UNC while down a key guy.

Again, while a bit of apples and oranges, this would also be a similar timeline as the most recent ā€œknee sprainā€ Iā€™m aware of, which was Paige Bueckers for the UConn womenā€¦ there was similar angst about her status but she was back and full speed in 2/3 weeks.

Obviously very different situations and who knows what extra detail there is beyond ā€œknee sprain.ā€ Still, once Maliq was practicing it made sense that his return would be closer to a timescale of days/weeks rather than months.

I thought Scheyer announced on Thursday that Brown had just gotten back onto the court and was only doing straight line running and shooting. It sounded like he was several steps away from being able to practice. If he was actually doing a full practice with no restrictions at the end of the week then that is a huge improvement from what I was expecting.
