LOL, I would say G-Man has aged the best. Where did Bob Bender's hair go??Actually found the photo on Kenny Dennard's Instagram. Here is the link (I'm not sure how to insert a photo from Insta):
Middle-aged (or older) men (not sure if there are any women participating?) trying to play semi-competitive basketball. Not a wise move, IMHO. I assume the participants have to sign a tightly-worded release of liability form before enrolling in the camp. I don't know if anyone has keeled over with a heart attack during any of the camps? (Trying not to be negative here, sorry). At Washington Duke a participant said lots of injuries. Unfortunately it can happen
The nightmare situation is to spend all of this money then to pull a hammy (or worse) an hour into it so you can't participate. The rest of the activities and bonding are great but it would not be the same. A family member went to something similar as a bucket list item and got into the best shape of his life to do his best to avoid injury (he was successful).Middle-aged (or older) men (not sure if there are any women participating?) trying to play semi-competitive basketball. Is there a "nap track" available? Take a long nap in the afternoon and then participate in the evening activities? The nightmare situation is to spend all of this money then to pull a hammy (or worse) an hour into it so you can't participate. I believe there is a related golf track for those who prefer - play golf with various Duke people then participate in the basketball-related evening activities.
Other schools have attempted to have camps similar to K Academy but it is by far the gold standard - it is much bigger than any of the others. It is a great fund raiser for the Emily K Center, I believe it now kicks off some nice NIL payments, and it is huge for building the brotherhood brand.
The camp sounds like a real money maker for Duke Hospital! Two of my college friends attended last year, one tore his achilles and the other tore his ACL
This article is 15 years old but it seems to capture the spirit of the event, and the injury totals

Wojciechowski: Veteran scribe taught a lesson at K Academy
Bruised, battered and on a first-name basis with the head trainer. And this is a fantasy camp? As Gene Wojciechowski recently found out firsthand, the K Academy at Duke is not for the faint of heart.www.espn.com
I think it's a real money maker for a lot of things. Ferryfor50 will have to clue us in (and I know other DBRers have attended), but it sounds like there is a lot of encouragement to spend at the silent auctions. I think the Emily K center is the prime beneficiary so that' a good cause. The camp sounds like a real money maker for Duke Hospital!

I hope there's no bulk around his waste. Maybe take some metamucil for that....Evans looks a little more bulkier from waste up.
