JJ Redick and the Lakers coaching saga

A few points. (a) JJ has a huge 5-year contract to coach the LA Lakers. Highly desirable, per se. (b) LeBron is turning 40 in December. How long will he be around? A lot fewer than five years. (c) Brownie is likely an end-of-the-bench player, unless he truly performs. I suspect he'll get most of his mins in the G League. But if he plays for the LAL and is horrible, it's on LeBron, not JJ.

I suspect JJ is doing just fine.

I think the contract Bronny got says he will get serious minutes.

I think the Bronny situation may also be one of the reasons that other experienced coaches didn't want the job, now that is speculation but you would of thought the Lakers and coaching Lebron would of had better and more candidates.

I would add there is a possibly that maybe Lebron doesn't actually care too much about winning this year and just wants to play with Bronny and the more Bronny plays is better for JJ's job this year at least.

I wouldn't overrate the contract. Bronny is set to be the 15th highest paid Laker next season. If we look at contract as a predictor of playing time, they've invested more in almost everybody else on the roster.
