Investment Thread

Someone's power fight has cost TSLA $50/share today. It had been floating well above $300 for a few weeks now.
TSLA is not only toast, it's burned toast, and I think Leon Mosque knows it. The Chinese have blown past him and US and Yerpeen tariffs on the Chinese vehicles will just prolong the agony.

I keep thinking of so many lines from that song, trying to figure which ones would pass the wanker filter and the general decorum...
That's why I had to go to the source material. It clearly wasn't part of everyone's cultural experience. My junior year, '91-'92, I lived in House H and the ATOs were next door. That fall, this song would play 3-4 times a night on weekends, from the speakers they had hanging out the window of their commons.

About to get a modest signing bonus and thinking about investing in one of these more accessible VC vehicles that have come on the market the last few years.

Would be my first time doing that sort of thing. Anyone have experience?

I shall show you my expansive ignorance by asking what the heck is a VC vehicle? Viet Cong? Venture Capital? Do they have cars with built in bars and Bloomberg terminals?

Yeah, venture capital pre-IPO. Historically, to have access as a private investor, you needed a pretty high buy-in inaccessible to most folks but there are several new investing platforms that enable lower buy-ins for access. I’m looking at the one below.

I am starting a Pangolin Fund and invite you to send me a bunch of money and we'll see what I can do with it! Looking at places that are warm in the winter.

I haven't looked at or done any research on these "retail-funded" VC funds that have now become available to so-called ordinary investors. BUT I believe both the PE (private equity) and VC (venture capital) markets are overfunded already and the retail VC funds will be scrounging around for the table scraps on the floor after the large, established and institutionally funded VC funds have gotten all the best deals. My guess is that an investment in an S&P 500 index fund will do better than one of these investments.
