Good Thoughts

Have now officially made it one year post kidney-pancreas transplant. Easy to remember your surgery anniversary when it’s your birthday. So grateful to so many people who helped me and my family on this journey. I’d also encourage all of you to make the appropriate markings down so that you are an organ donor. I know it made a world of difference in my life. Ended up having a great conversation with a friend I hadn’t connected with since high school who lost her teenage daughter in a drowning accident and takes some solace in the knowledge she was an organ donor.

But feeling very blessed this year and enjoying another year of (blue) devil worship.
So glad to hear it's going well! Happy Birthday! Would this also be the first birthday of the new you?

Took a peek on MyChart and the blood work looks good. PSA dropped again. What a relief. As for the trip, in May we are flying to Bergen and taking a cruise along the west coast of Norway with Havila. There are some YouTube videos that show what these cruises are like at different times of the year. We have some friends who have been in France for Michelin and they did this during winter and really enjoyed it. We will fly from GSP to JFK and then to Bergen. The cruise goes from Bergen to Kirkenes and back over 12 days.

Awesome my wife reads those charts like a boss.she has categorized them all in her head .instantly knows what's different.
She keeps all my medical records straight .
Waiting on my ct scan results to be interpreted. Have a great trip .

Well have a cyst or hemangioma have to get a mri .could be worse .this time last year I was in bad shape . Have a great new year.

My mother-in-law broke her hip last week and the recovery is not going well. Her days of independent living are definitely over and maybe walking as well. Prayers would be appreciated.
My mother-in-law is not recovering well. She is continuing to eat poorly, experience pain and can not speak a complete sentence without forgetting what she was saying. We will most likely be discontinuing any life prolonging medical treatment and care this week. She would not want to live like this.

:(

So sorry. All of you are in my prayers. 😔

Time for blood work next week and a doctor visit. Fingers crossed as usual. The result of the men's BB game should knock that PSA down some more...lol. However the political situation is forcing increased exercise and meditation to manage the old BP. I hope everyone is well and shifting your focus to my upcoming birthday season. Love you guys.
Hope your bloodwork goes well. I have port removal the 11th .my mri sat was good .I read the radiology report .doctor has yet to call me. Liver was the same as last two.which means the diet change is working to prevent further damage.
Ofcourse my waffle house MD diagnosis needs to be confirmed by a actual MD for clarification.
I'm guessing with oncology removing the port at thier suggestion is a good sign that my lymphoma is under control as of now.
Neuropathy has been bad the last 10 days give or take.
It doesn't go below the second knuckle on my fingers or toes.so if that's the price I have to pay for life .I can live with it. Aggravating but the alternative is worse.
Best wishes to you.

I just got a text from a good friend in Los Angeles. Hurrah!! With what he's been through, getting a text from him is a big deal.

He was out of town visiting his godson over Christmas and collapsed, went into the hospital and has been in the ICU for about a month, a good part of it with a tube down his throat. He developed sepsis, was in a coma for two weeks, had two intestinal surgeries. A week ago he had finally recovered enough to be moved back to his local hospital, Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Now he's officially in recovery mode, awake at least, and will be getting out of the ICU soon. He'll need PT to get his muscle tone back after a month in bed, but for a while we didn't know if he would ever wake up again. Happy dance is in progress.

Had two bowel resections. Those intestins can be finicky and are pretty serious. Mine wouldn't wake up on 2nd .was being fed through my port. Was looking bleak last January.
The muscle loss from being bed ridden is shocking . That pt is hard . Glad he's doing well. He's just got to keep working it'll come .
I stopped trying to be 100% .focused on being 100% better than my low point. Little victorys win the war on health.
Hit 280 yesterday.
