Finding great assistants was certainly a secret to Coach Cut's early success, and I'm guessing it's also true for Coach Diaz.
Our defense, for example, has been remarkable, especially given the reality that 75 other colleges have been seen to recruit at roughly our level or above. I don't know the relative contributions of Diaz/Patke/Bentley/Bower/Infante/Lyster, etc, but somebody is not just good at defensive strategies but at the identification of talent. Or maybe it's the Armer/Feeley performance crowd. Or maybe it's the organizational crowd, like all the recruiting and scouting people, or people like Garrett who came from FSU and certainly contributed something (and it looks like FSU may have missed him once he left!).
From the web site, I counted 48 guys on the full-time staff (well, 43 guys and 5 women), and I do realize that when we say "Coach Diaz" we actually mean "Coach Diaz & Crew," but I just had this vague sense that we could spread the kudos, particularly since assistants are at least as likely to move around as star players.
