FB (Gator Bowl): Ole Miss 52, Duke 20

For ticket buyers through GoDuke, this is the seating chart. Your $87 gets you planted "in sections 132-133 or 140-141", based on Iron Dukes priority, whatever that is. For that price, it's far better than anything you will get third party. Plus you get to high five a friend instead of snarling at the opposition.

If I were a true genius, I'd have bought more than only 2 parking passes last night. The J lot I got mine for, across the street, has now doubled in price thanks to "verified resale".
Be forewarned: If postgame traffic coming out of that stadium following this bowl game is anything like we typically encounter after the Florida-Georgia game, it can be a dreadful nightmare -- especially if you're trying to get back to I-95, which requires navigating a congested sea of vehicles that crawls at a glacial pace through the arteries of downtown Jacksonville. I recommend that you plan to indulge in a spell of postgame tailgating to allow time for the traffic to clear.

Going to Gator Bowl with Duke Roomie and our wives. I am 0-3 in Bowl games (Birmingham under Spurrier, Belk Bowl and Chick-Fil-A)...and just 2-5 in FF trips...I think I am due a victory!

True. In addition, this game, unlike The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, is not being played on a Saturday, and will not be ending at an early evening hour -- all of which is likely to result in a substantial reduction of the postgame traffic congestion problem.

For a 7:30 game in Wallace Wade, it's very rare that I get to leave before midnight; I'll feel right at home. 😉

This is the kind of thing that is just gonna ruin college sports fandom. Just ruin it.
Yup. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. The unlimited transfers and unlimited pay are a bad mix. I know that a computer science major or art major or whoever else can do it. Doesn't matter.

I know no one cares about academics, but from what school does Murphy plan on getting his degree? You know, the thing he will likely have to use to make a living?

Well, we have two quarterbacks in Belin and Loftis who showed flashes of talent last year, got recruited over, then, unlike their peers, stuck around (assuming they had other options). I am really excited to see what they can do.

At least we've got a few weeks to practice without Murphy. That's not a small thing to prep for.
Other silver lining is that Ole Miss doesn't have an ounce of tape to look at that they can use for useful prep with whoever is under center. Maybe Manny and Company will run QB draws all day to victory.

"We don't know what hit us. We've never seen their guy run before!" ---Lane Kiffin in the post game presser

In fact, I'm now reminded of our esteemed Loran16's sig. Maybe he'll get to update it. Replace "Zack Asack" with either Henry or Grayson.

<devildeac> anyone playing drinking games by now?
7:49:36<Wander> drink every qb run?
7:49:38<loran16> umm, drink every time asack rushes?
7:49:38<wolfybeard> @devildeac: drink when Asack runs a keeper
7:49:39 PM<CB&B> any time zack runs, drink

By the way, the fact that this signature still stands is testament to the fact that this was the greatest moment in all of Duke Football history. Thank you, Thad Lewis, for sacrificing your body for the betterment of fandom.

Welcome to corporate America students. Time for clawback provisions. FWIW, I would have presumed that NIL payments were pro-rata over some period of time.

College football now equals minor league football. I haven't watched much of my other alma mater's basketball because their was a complete turnover of coaches and 90% of players.

The Gator Bowl will likely be the last CFB game I watch in its entirety.
