kind of that Texas A and M Peach Bowl vibe?I’m glad the team gets an opportunity to shine because they earned it. Ole Miss is a talented team and should be a heavy favorite but once the ball is kicked we will see what happens.
I agree, but will cheer ferociously!Tough, tough, battle-tested opponent. I will, unfortunately, be really surprised if we can keep it close.
I agree the SEC is more talented, but we can still be competitive. The GT/UGA game was not a fluke.Seems to be me many on here are underestimating Duke. I suppose most have fell for the narrative of the greatness of the SEC.
Always give Virtual Sporks for a Don Altman reference. This game reminds me of the 1961 Cotton Bowl game between our Duke Blue Devils and Arkansas Razorbacks. The 9th ranked Razorbacks were favored over Duke. Arkansas was led by Lance Alworth who went on to become a very good NFL player. They lost 2 games, to 20th ranked Baylor and 2nd ranked Ole Miss. Duke won the game 7-6. They were led by QB, Don Altman and TE, Tee Moorman. Duke blocked Arkansas' extra point which gave the win to Duke. I was still in high school and watched the game on TV.

loved those helmets! That game was my first exposure to Duke (I was 12 years old) and I liked it.My father was a member of that 1961 team.
I just did some quick research on Ole Miss and it looks like they have three potential first round picks:
DE Princely Umanmielen
DT Walter Nolen
WR Tre Harris
Also, CB Trey Amos looks like a potential second round pick.
So one wonders how many of them actually play, given the big contracts they are hoping to get. If they do play, two first round picks on the DL means our OL better be ready.
Mine as well I was nine!loved those helmets! That game was my first exposure to Duke (I was 12 years old) and I liked it.
Well playedMy wish and rallying cry:
two for two against the powder blue in Manny’s debut
Fan Duel is an outlier with the line at 11.5. Maybe they’re hedging on the idea that Ole Miss loses a few stars for the game.Looks like Miss opens as a 14 pt fave. Tempted to invest there pending opt outs and general disappointment for a team and coaching staff which believed it was CFP bound. The D Line opt outs could be key as they might be able simply to overwhelm our OL.
