Duke Softball 2025

Looks Duke and waffles for brunch tomorrow. Why have the semis so early in the AM? 10 is crazy. Someone in scheduling allergic to the dark?

Really curious if Cass will have a chance absent a big blow up from Dani to reclaim the ace spot. Shes still the higher upside pitcher who carried us in the supers last year.

Anyhow, let’s go duke. Softball America now has us as a 13 seed in bracketology and thinks we are a regional hosting lock but I still don’t trust it fwiw
 
Ugh we get Jenny Dalton Hill on color again this year. She covered Duke from the acc tournament all the way to the supers last year and drove the team crazy
 
Drogemuller got into two out trouble, almost giving up a home run I still think might’ve gone over the white line but was instead a double but she gets out of it. 0-0 after 1
 
Duke strikes first! Vega with a two out single and then gold pops it up…and the FSU outfielder drops it and Vega scores!

Kairi grounds out to end Duke’s threat. Doubt a 1 run lead will hold up but it’s a start as Dani returns to the circle
 
Oh good lord. Bunt single and then a ground ball to short, gold opts not to go home and then baker can’t handle the throw at first.

1-1 still no outs first and third for FSU
 
Just some really bad d. Duke gets an out on a ground ball to second but the runner gets to second as Vega doesn’t go to second for….some reason. And the FSU runner at third scores to take a 2-1 FSU lead
 
New FSU pitcher (who started last inning) looks nasty and the middle of our order looked hopeless. Midway through we still trail 2-1 and need to keep the deficit to 1
