Duke Men's Lax 2025

Interesting - thanks for finding this. Odd choice. Soccer is in Gillette, MetLife and Lincoln Financial. It doesn't start until two weeks after Memorial Day but I guess I see why they don't want a pretty major event there that close. So those are out. What about the Ravens stadium in Baltimore? I know the Commanders stadium is generally out of favor but that is an option? Or West Point or Navy? Or the UConn stadium where I think they had it fairly recently?

I’m not sure about West Point, but my understanding is that The Naval Academy will not bump their commencement date away from Memorial Day weekend.

As a dual degree cavdevil, I love seeing it in a different venue—although getting to town from 64 is going to be less than amazing that weekend !

West Point is scenic but a real pain in the butt to get to.

Compared to Charlottesville? Not a lot of hotel space in the immediate area but plenty not far away and much closer to the center of gravity of lax. Just throwing it out there though I know nothing will change.

90% of the lax traffic will drive down 29 from DC. I can't imagine anybody from the hotbeds of lacrosse driving 2 legs of that triangle through NOVA and that construction if it's still there. For those of us that live south of Richmond, it's quite the gift if Duke can get there.

Well, it depends upon where you're coming from. Have you attended any Duke football games at West Point? Their logistics can be horrible...if you're not able to walk a pretty long distance uphill like the Wombles (nice walk) you depend upon their bussing which can be truly awful...we've been to several games where the busses from the distant parking lots are still disgorging a lot of people well into the second quarter...

As the parent of a West Point grad I know that their graduation ceremony is always held on Memorial Day weekend. That coupled with limited local hotels and restaurants makes them unfavorable for a tournament. And given the security measures required to get onto post, I doubt if any NCAA fans would enjoy the experience. All that said, it is a beautiful place.

ya, we enjoy it but get there about two hours before football games because it takes a lot of time to do anything ...

As has become the trend of late, the best team in the country won the title, single elimination tournament be damned. Congrats.

Buzcek had quickly put himself in the conversation when debating who is the best coach in the country.

I didn't know much about him but he looked very young. Just checked and he is probably about 32 (graduated Cornell in 2015) and got the job when he was about 27. Really impressive guy. Ivy League Player of the Year and lots of scholar athlete awards. He is a Cornell grad so could be there for a long, long time and set a lot of records.

The Duke-UVa transfer carousel continues. Duke gains Thomas Mencke for ‘26.
Unfortunately, each program seems to get players (at least on current rosters) the other team is not sad to see leave.

Mencke did not have a particularly good season for UVA. Balsamo, however, had a nightmare season for the Hoos.

yes, and the Hoos had a nightmare season for the Hoos, too bad! (though I think their coach is a decent guy).

Duke needs to go hard after UVA A Kyle Colsey. Probably the only name out there that has the potential to meaningfully move the needle offensively for us next year.
