Duke fan survey! We need your votes!

Done--but if I did it again tomorrow, some of my answers might change. Favorite player? Favorite team? Who can choose?

PS I am assuming the reason Art Heyman and Dick Groat were not included in the favorite players options is because none of us are old enough to have seen them play. (Though I did see Groat play several times for the Pittsburgh Pirates.....)
"None" is not accurate.

Done, I feel good that I didn't ask them to get off my lawn - change can painful but it's inevitable (especially given the NCAA's total incompetence). How can I see responses?
We will be unveiling the survey results over the next several weeks on the Duke Basketball Roundup podcast. We want to give folks plenty of time to find the survey and fill it out. Hope to get over 1000 responses.

I absolutely considered them as well as a few other options for favorite player and also favorite NBA Dukie, but I decided to go with what I thought were far and away the most likely answers and then give folks an "other" option to allow them to fill in whoever they want instead.

Thus far, 10% of the answers for "favorite player" are folks in the "other" category including votes for: Steve Vacendak, Alana Beard, Bob Verga, David Henderson, Mark Alarie, and Jeremy Roach.

While not in the survey, I do have a few favorite plays. In no particular order, a brief sampling:

Shane chase down block from behind of a UNC dunk attempt. Stackhouse?

Shane two handed block on a terrapin under the basket. IIRC Shane grabbed the ball and maintained possession.

Chris Duhon full court for a layup to stun the heels.

Christian’s shot v Kentucky!

Hurley lob to Grant (too high really) for a dunk v UNLV.

Tre Jones deliberately missing a free throw, securing the rebound and “lobbing” it up for Wendell Moore.

Kon pulling Tyrese back in bounds.

Great list. I would add the 'Coach said no threes' block by Zion at UVa.

I think you’re remembering this Battier block, which should really be considered one of the best defensive plays ever in a title game.

Hurley to Grant - are you remembering this one against Kansas?

Great list though, and fun exercise.

I would add:

The entire miracle minute v Maryland in 01

Dahntay Jones dunk at UVA in 02

Dockery from half court in 06

Miles Plumlee alley oop slam to cap off 82-50 vs UNC in 10

Nolan’s and-one to complete the comeback vs UNC in 11

Austin Rivers shot against UNC in 12

Quinn’s dagger to cap comeback @UVA in 15

Phil Henderson [!] dunking over Alonzo Mourning in 1989 regional finals.

And, for the record, there are too many plays to have a survey on it. I'm not inputting 60 or 80 options into the poll and I'm not sorting through 500+ separate answers to figure out the percentage on each.

Plus, we all know that Grant to Laettner in 1992 is the greatest play in Duke history. Period. End of story. There shall be no further discussion.

When will we see the results of the survey?
It is still open and we are still collecting votes. We will be moving mostly into NBA Draft mode soon but will at least have some results in the next week or two. The full results will come in about 3 weeks, I would say.
